Baihua deep alley, located in the east of Xinjiekou South Street Road, the name is very poetic, the alley is not big, but it is a place with a story. If you can go for a stroll nearby, it is said that it was a recording studio for some musicians in the early days.
Deep in Baihua is an alley, belonging to Shichahai Street, east of Huguosi East Lane, west to Xinjiekou South Street. North and New Taiping Hutong; south to Huguosi West Lane. It is rumored that during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, a young couple surnamed Zhang bought 20 acres of land and planted vegetables in the alley south of Xinjiekou, Beijing. The couple worked hard and frugal, and the days were also solid. A few years later, the couple who are quite leisurely and elegant planted peony, sputum and other flowers in the garden, and there is a pond in the garden where lotus seeds are planted. In spring and summer, the flowers are in full bloom, and the literati and ink guests have come here to enjoy the flowers, so this place is called "the depth of the hundred flowers."
Baihua deep hutong was originally just an ordinary old Beijing hutong, because Chen Sheng's classic song "Beijing One Night" is widely known, becoming a place for literary youth to come to pilgrimage. The alley itself is not very long, it is a very ordinary path, but every household is a story.
The rides here are particularly complete and are not seen in other places in China. There are a lot of weird food here. There are also endless crowds. The only downside is that the price is too high
The hutongs here are dense and extend in all directions, and experience the life of the hutongs.
I like Beijing Hutong culture. From Nanluoguxiang, I pass through the Shichahai area and walk all the way to Ping An, and I have been to the famous Baihua deep alley. The hutong is relatively close to Huguo Temple, and there are many restaurants with old Beijing characteristics nearby. Inside the hutong deep in the hundred flowers is a family of each household, outside the hutong is a small shop selling various musical instruments, and the market is full of simple and unpretentious, grounded artistic atmosphere.
