Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River, the second largest waterfall in China (the largest is Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou) and the largest yellow waterfall in the world. Because the Yellow River flows from a river width of 300 meters to here, the river mouth suddenly narrows to a width of about 30 meters, hence the name Hukou (Kettle Mouth). The Hukou Waterfall is spectacular, with surging river water pouring down, turbulent rapids, like thousands of horses galloping, the splashing water can form a misty fog, and a rainbow can be seen in good weather. The east side of Hukou Waterfall is Hukou Town, Jixian County, Linfen, Shanxi, and the west side is Hukou Town, Yichuan County, Yan'an, Shaanxi. In order not to have regrets, I checked in at the two Hukou Waterfall scenic spots in Shanxi and Shaanxi in one day, which side is more magnificent? Shanxi's! I'll say the conclusion first, with photos as proof (Figure 2⃣️) The left side of the photo is Shaanxi Scenic Area, and the right side is Shanxi Scenic Area. The Yellow River's water is larger in Shaanxi than in Shanxi, so the Shaanxi Scenic Area cannot see the most majestic and spectacular section of the Yellow River waterfall below. And the Shaanxi Scenic Area needs to build a bridge on the water, and some ground will be flooded when the water is large, and it is a bit dangerous when there are many people crowded. In contrast, the viewing area of Shanxi Scenic Area is flat, open and very dry. The Yellow River rushes to this point, with steep cliffs on both sides. The river narrows like a pot mouth, hence the name Hukou Waterfall. Although it is not the flood season of the Yellow River now, the surging of the Hukou Waterfall will not cease. Don't ask me why I didn't take photos right next to the waterfall; I've tried, I really have, and got completely soaked... The Yellow River Hukou Waterfall is divided into the Shaanxi side and the Shanxi side, and this time I visited the Shaanxi side, which is very convenient. You can park your car and walk directly to the riverside. The spirit of the Yellow River can really affect people; standing by it, I feel my mind is exceptionally open. It is said that a few days ago there was not much sand and soil, and everyone could see the emerald green river water flowing down the waterfall, which is a different kind of romance. It's especially worthwhile; everyone should see the Yellow River at least once in their life! If you can, taking a helicopter ride to overlook the entire magnificent view is also an option.
