After the end of the Naples dynasty, the palace has been converted into the National Library since 1925. After the fall of Napoleon and the restoration of the Bourbon Dynasty, Ferdinand IV continued to complete the building, but after it was completed in 1816, it belonged to the church and was dedicated to Paul St. Francis, who was a monk here in the 16th century, so it is named after him to this day.
