Shaoxing Luxun's former residence is located in the new Taimen Gate of Fangkou, Dongchang, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. The ancestral residence was built from 1810 to 1813. It was the early residence of Lu Xun's family. The People's Republic of China established, renovated and established the Lu Xun Memorial Hall. In 1988, the State Council announced that it was a key cultural relic protection unit in the country. The former residence was originally two entries, but the former one was no longer the original appearance. Three bungalows of the Zhou family have been demolished. There are five second-floor buildings in the back. In front of the lobby on the East first floor, there are places for eating and meeting. In the second half, there are Lu Xun's mother's rooms. In the first half of the West first floor, there are Lu Xun's grandmother's bedrooms. The Western Room is the room where Lu Xun was born. The well next day behind the building is a three-storey bungalow with stoves and debris. Lu Xun spent his childhood and adolescence here until he went out to study in 1899. From 1910 to 1912, Lu Xun returned to his hometown to teach. From 1912 to 1919, Lu Xun also returned home several times to live here. The back garden of Lu Xun's former residence is Baicao Garden, originally a vegetable garden shared by Zhou's family and nearby houses.
