This is a great place. Highly recommended!! With its vibrant river and vast nature, it's definitely worth a visit. I arrived late in the afternoon, so I wasn't able to see everything. I recommend staying nearby the night before and exploring first thing in the morning. There are round-trip buses to nearby hotels. If you don't have a car, stay at a nearby hotel and take the round-trip bus on the day of your visit to explore the area in the morning. I think you should stay here for at least two nights. Even after purchasing your ticket and entering, it takes quite a bit of time to get to the bus stop and travel. The site is very large, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore.

Kanas is beautiful in all seasons, but different seasons have unique styles:
Summer and autumn peak season (June-October): June-August is green and the climate is cool; from mid-September to early October, the autumn colors are beautiful and the forests are dyed, and it is known as the "back garden of God".
Winter (November-April of the following year): Covered with ice and snow, the ink painting-like Hemu Village and skiing experience (Jikepulin Ski Resort) are unique.

Hemu Village is such a beautiful village. The blue sky, white clouds, sunset and wisps of smoke coming out of the chimneys on the roofs are as beautiful as a painting, a sight to behold! From the mountaintop plain you can overlook the Hemu Village below, with rows of trees and the clear Hemu River. A cup of coffee is a unique experience and it is well worth coming to experience the beauty of nature for yourself.

Kanas Hemu Scenic Area is surrounded by the Altai Mountains in Xinjiang. Vast snow-capped mountains can be seen everywhere. You can even see them while lying in bed. The scenery is very beautiful. This place is located at the junction of China, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia.

One of the three scenic spots in Kanas, located in the easternmost part. After taking the scenic bus into Hemu Village, you can basically walk around. After crossing the wooden bridge of Hemu River, there is a plank road up the mountain, which overlooks the entire Hemu River Valley. You can stay in the scenic area, and the old village is recommended. The new village was built later and is a bit too commercialized, losing the original flavor of the Kazakh village.

The Keketuohai Scenic Area, located in Fuyun County, Xinjiang, is based on the world-class Keketuohai Geopark and has the world's only Irtysh River Countercurrent Wonder. When the mountains are covered with snow in winter, it is recommended to go deep into the "Savage Valley" for a 48-kilometer snow hike (with a guide), passing through the original poplar forest and karst landforms, and occasionally encounter wild snow rabbit tracks. The Keketuohai Scenic Area in Fuyun County is a long and narrow canyon belt. The Irtysh River Grand Canyon is here. It takes 40 to 50 minutes to take the scenic bus from the gate to Shenzhong Mountain. Most tourists stop here. You can go forward about one kilometer and take the second section of the shuttle bus, which can take you to a small waterfall deep in the valley.

It was hot and sunny, but the scenery of the Yadan area in the desert was great. Personally, I think it is enough to just take pictures in the first scenic area, and you can just stay in the car and explore the other sections.

The Devil City in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is a typical Yadan wind erosion landform, rich in natural asphalt and deep underground oil. In the Cretaceous period, it was a huge freshwater lake, with lush plants growing on the lakeshore, and the waters were inhabited by Urho stegosaurus, plesiosaurs, dinosaurs, Junggar pterosaurs and other ancient animals. Later, after two major crustal movements, the lake became a vast land sea with sandstone and mudstone in between, which is called "Gobi Terrace" in geology. The Devil City is also known as the Wind City of Urho. The Urho mining area is located in the lower reaches of the Jiamu River on the northwest edge of the Junggar Basin, 100 kilometers southwest of Karamay City. There is a unique wind-eroded landform with a strange shape. The local Mongolians call this city "Sulumuhak" and the Kazakhs call it "Shayitankelsi", which means the Devil City.

Karamay World Ghost City is located on the only way from Burqin to Kuitun. It is a large area of Yadan landforms. The wind-eroded rocks present various strange shapes, which makes people sigh at the greatness of nature. Many movies have been filmed here, and several of them have been made into theme tour areas by the scenic spot.

After the river rushed out of Tianshan Mountain, it cut through the sloping plain southwest of Dushanzi to form a magical canyon. The terraces on both sides of the canyon are clearly visible, which can be divided into at least 9 levels. On the terraces are desert grasslands, where Artemisia and Stipa grow. In Dushanzi, the Kuitun River flows through the Dushanzi Grand Canyon. The canyon runs nearly north-south. The canyon walls are steep, and the water at the bottom of the valley sometimes flows together and sometimes flows apart. The valley shoulder is desert grassland. Standing on the valley shoulder and looking at the canyon from afar, what is presented in front of you is a typical Grand Canyon scene.

The valley walls are steep and the lines are strong and powerful, as if it is a painting painted by the earth with the most powerful brushstrokes. I keep seeing people saying online that it's not worth coming here, and that the scenic spot projects are a rip-off.
But I think this scenic spot is good.
There are not as many people as in Kanas, so you can walk slowly and have a cup of coffee.
Spent a leisurely afternoon.

The Turpan Flaming Mountain Scenic Area belongs to the Turpan area in Xinjiang. It is located next to the Lianhuo Expressway on the east side of Turpan City, about 30 kilometers away from the city center. It is a landform scenic area dominated by fiery reddish-brown sandstone landforms. Historically, this was the location of the ancient Gaochang Kingdom. According to legend, this is the location of the Flaming Mountain where Tang Monk and his disciples borrowed a palm-leaf fan to put out the fire in the novel Journey to the West. In the scenic area, you can admire the spectacular landforms, view historical displays of the ancient Gaochang Kingdom, and see sculptures with the theme of Journey to the West. It is a must-visit place for many tourists visiting Turpan.

The mountains are very beautiful and stretch out for a long day. Try to go during a sunny day for the best views.
However, avoid the theme park like main entrance if this is not your thing. You can see the mountains from anywhere so just ask your driver to stop at photogenic spots next to the road. After paying 5 euros for the entrance at the site you are stuck with too many tourists, loud music and stupid tourist trap statues, camel rides and a lousy museum.

Absolutely amazing place and simply a must visit if your in this part of the world. you could easily spend one for day here looking around and still not see it all. the other great thing is that unlike other Chinese tourist attractions there's almost nobody here!

We went to the ice pond and skiing.
We took a taxi to Tianshan Tianchi Lake. From the central bus stop, there's a free bus tour that circles the Tianshan Tianchi Lake. Although I didn't speak Chinese, I was able to enjoy the magnificent scenery.
I recommend sitting by the window!
Upon arrival, I checked the return bus time and walked to the ice pond.
It's a fairly long mountain path, but it's paved and very easy to walk on.
Since our destination is the ice pond, I recommend avoiding heels.
The front of the ice pond is crowded with attractions and monuments, but the crowds thin out as you go further in. I recommend walking all the way to the back. There's plenty of nature and the scenery is truly spectacular!
Even at the back, there's a squat toilet along the way. It's a good idea to bring tissues with you.
There are benches and other facilities in various places, so it's no problem if you get tired.
The ice pond itself is large, so it's a bit of a walk to the bus stop, so I recommend leaving plenty of time.
There are restaurants and cafes near the bus stop, but the restaurants have tourist prices and the food is honestly a bit mediocre. It's just enough to fill your stomach. The cafe is similar to Gong Cha and I wonder if they had anything to eat? It's in the same place as the restaurant.
You order at both the restaurant and cafe via smartphone or kiosk, so it's fine even if you don't speak Chinese.
You take a meal ticket, line up, and pick up what looks like what you ordered. Food usually comes out in order, so there's not much to worry about.
The ski resort is located far away and can't be reached from the central bus stop, so I recommend taking a taxi.
It was a memorable and wonderful experience. I highly recommend visiting.

If you go by public transportation, there will be a guide on the bus who will handle the entrance fee to Cheonji + round-trip shuttle, and the cable car to Maisan + round-trip shuttle. Since I am not familiar with Chinese, I paid for the entrance fee to Cheonji + round-trip shuttle on Trip.com, and the QR code came right away, so I was able to travel without any problems.

It's a 10-minute walk from the parking lot to the visitor center. Then, take the shuttle bus to the scenic area, and then another 10-minute uphill walk, which is quite tiring even for the elderly. It was crowded, but it was worth it.

The itinerary was perfectly balanced. I dread those rushed tours where you sleep on the bus and only need to pee when you get off, but this trip had just the right pace! There was ample time for photos and exploration each day, so it never felt rushed. All the classic tourist attractions were included, plus several hidden gems that are usually inaccessible on independent trips, and a stunning mountaintop viewpoint – the moment I saw the view, I knew it was all worth it!

The great wall was very nice even though it has been rebuilt ist the end of 80s. As a foreigner it wasn't so easy to understand exactly where to go: you can go to the ticket office 2 km far from the fortress and then take a free shuttle to the fortress. There are no Connections between the fortress and the great wall, the only way is to go by taxy or car.

Jiayuguan Pass, known as the "First Pass Under Heaven," is a must-see. The museum is also open. Since it was the off-season, only one restaurant nearby was open, so I ordered dumplings to fill my stomach (they were alright). The One-Armed Great Wall is easy to walk on, and the combined ticket is very cost-effective and worth the trip.

Considering that the price includes access to all three attractions, it's a great deal. A round-trip bus ticket to the Great Wall is available for 20 yuan at the parking lot of the Jiayu Tourist Complex. While smaller than the Xi'an fort, it boasts a distinct charm, its earthy hue.

The hanging wall was absolutely outstanding. A very nice experience to see and walk on the last bit of the Great Wall. For the fortress it would have been nice to have more and better information in English. We would have liked to see the night show at the fortress also but saw and figured it would be only mandarin. It was also a bit hard to find the shuttle bus to and from the hanging wall.

Our room was spacious and bright, featuring comfortable bedding and a bathtub perfect for a relaxing hot soak, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep.
The service was excellent. Manager Luo at the front desk was incredibly warm, attentive, and professional, having already prepared our room and key card in advance. We even received a thoughtful welcome gift upon check-in, which tasted delicious!
The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated with distinct local characteristics. There's a charming long corridor, and they even offer traditional folk costumes for guests to take photos in. The hotel also provides its own dedicated and very convenient parking lot. Overall, the facilities are excellent.
