It was really great! When I was booking this hotel, I looked through a bunch of reviews and they all said there were cockroaches or bed bugs, which was terrifying. I searched for ages before finally finding this one. It was a pleasant surprise! First of all, the location is fantastic. It's just across the alley from Tin Hau MTR station, a short walk in. The surrounding residential area is quiet and not crowded, with lots of delicious little shops. Secondly, the cleanliness was excellent, and the room was surprisingly spacious. However, one thing to note is that the deposit requires cash or a physical credit card authorization (and Apple Pay isn't accepted...). Finally, the biggest surprise was the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows! Absolutely stunning!!

The location is excellent, right across the street from Tin Hau MTR Station Exit A1, making transportation very convenient. You can even walk to Causeway Bay. Nearby, there's Tin Hau Temple and Victoria Park, and within a one-kilometer radius, there's a great selection of food. The room was clean; although the size can't compare to mainland hotels, it was perfectly adequate for two people. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was no impolite behavior towards guests from the mainland. When I checked in, they even offered to help with my luggage, which was a very comfortable experience.

For my previous visits to Hong Kong, I always had to wait until 3 PM for check-in, and sometimes even until 4 PM, which was quite an ordeal with rooms not being ready. This time, arriving early by high-speed rail, I was told there was a room available right away. If I didn't mind a lower floor, I immediately said, ”I don't mind!” Indeed, the experience of being able to check into my room, freshen up, and then head out to run errands, compared to storing luggage and dragging my tired body around, is completely different. That feeling of exceeding expectations definitely deserves an extra star! I initially thought there would be many rooms on one floor, so I was a bit surprised when the elevator opened directly to my room. But looking around, there were only four rooms on the entire floor, all near the elevator. I instantly understood. The room is genuinely small, but the decor and color scheme, including small details, show great thought. For example, because of the limited space, the windowsill was extended to accommodate luggage and serve as a seat. For the tea set, they thoughtfully chose a heat-resistant stainless steel one. The kind service lady informed me that guests can enjoy complimentary drinks from the mini-fridge. Even the bedding, towels, and other hotel amenities reflect the care put in by the management. Of course, the complimentary afternoon tea and drinks at the hotel's 30th-floor bar, included in my booking package, were significant bonuses, especially considering nearly ten similar competitors in this small area. These two points definitely add a lot of value! I invited an elderly friend to the hotel to discuss some matters and we enjoyed both the afternoon tea and the drinks on the 30th floor. My friend in Hong Kong also commented that they hadn't expected this hotel to be so good, and would recommend it to their friends if they visit in the future. In summary, with some hotels, you feel a surge of goodwill the moment you check in; with others, the moment you open the room door, you just want to check out as soon as possible. My experience here this time definitely falls into the former category.

This was the 3rd stay in the last 2 months. First I made a mistake and double booked our rooms. The hotel was very fast to cancel one of my bookings without any charges. On arrival, Vanessa at the front desk was very nice and helped arrange adjoining rooms for my wife and I and adjoining room for my 2 boys. Aside from easy access to the MTR and lots of restaurants all around the hotel offers a spectacular view of the Victoria Harbor from their VIP Lounge on the top floor. For hotels with similar prices in the area I highly recommend the Empire.

5 Star service from staff. Very attentive house keeping staff. Nice looking lobby. Has a mini fridge but isnt super cold and would store drinks but not milk. Kettle, cups and complimentary coffee in lobby. Some areas that could be improved: Blue Light next to bed on switches are handy for finding the switch at night but can be bright for sleeping. Bit smaller room but good trade off if central location is key. Bed is on firmer side and pillows lower for my personal liking preference. No conditioner is provided, only shampoo and body wash so pack conditioner if that's something you need.

A Short Stay at iclub Fortress Hill Hotel First time in Fortress Hill, Hong Kong, and choosing iclub Hotel was definitely the right call! It's just a 5-minute walk from the MTR station, so even with luggage, you don't have to go out of your way – super friendly for travelers with big bags. Check-in was very efficient, and the front desk even thoughtfully provided a local map, marking nearby cha chaan tengs and convenience stores. The attention to detail was amazing. Though the room wasn't huge, it was cleverly laid out, with a clear separation for the desk, wardrobe, and bathroom. The small sofa by the window offered a perfect view of the street, and seeing the neon lights twinkle at night felt very 'Hong Kong'. The most pleasant surprise was the hotel's location. It's a 10-minute walk to Tin Hau Temple, and just around the corner downstairs is an old-school wonton noodle shop. In the morning, you can even visit the nearby wet market to experience local life. On my second day, I had an early flight, and the front desk helped pre-book a taxi, which took all the stress away. My short two-night stay was hassle-free, from the convenient transportation to the thoughtful service. Next time I'm in Hong Kong exploring the Eastern District, I'll definitely choose this place again!

My flight was delayed, so I didn't get to check in until after midnight. The hotel front desk generously upgraded me to a suite, which genuinely moved me. We arrived late, maybe 11.30pm, but were greeted warmly and checked in smoothly. The room was small but the bed was comfortable and the environment peaceful. Shower was hot and worked well, all towels and linen were clean, toilet was clean, and the room itself clean enough. It looked like it must have been a child's bedroom once because there were glow-in-the-dark decals of planets stuck on the walls and ceiling. This room is fine if you are traveling on a budget and need somewhere to sleep and keep your things while you explore Hong Kong, location is away from the centre but metro a short walk that will take you straight to Central Station. Was a bit difficult to find down a back street.

Took my kids to Hong Kong to watch the Ronaldo Saudi Super Cup final. Saw it opened in '09 and decided to take a gamble on it. Turns out, it completely exceeded my expectations! A veteran five-star hotel truly is in a league of its own. As soon as we walked in, we saw a signed Ronaldo jersey – the atmosphere was incredible! Facilities: Even though it opened in '09, it's incredibly well-maintained. Cleanliness: Spotless, absolutely nothing to complain about. Environment: No weird smells at all, a pleasant surprise. I booked this hotel three months in advance for a family visit in Hong Kong. It's very close to where my relatives live, and for Hong Kong standards, the room size is quite spacious, offering excellent value for money. It's super convenient to get to – just turn right after exiting Chai Wan MTR Station, and you're at Youth Square. We stayed on the 13th floor; although the hallway felt a bit retro, the building's facilities were great, and the air conditioning was strong. The room was clean, and both the AC and hot water worked perfectly. I particularly liked the sink. The bathroom was small, only big enough for one person; if you're a larger person, even turning around might be a bit tight. I prefer not to have housekeeping, so I kept the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on for a few days. They offer a complimentary simple breakfast from 8-10 AM. There are plenty of good eateries around, and they're generally cheaper than in the bustling city center. There's a restaurant called Tak Sing Restaurant where you can enjoy dim sum for breakfast. Overall, this hostel offers good value for money.

Considering how space is at a premium in Hong Kong, this hotel is pretty decent. Traveling solo, the single room was just right. The room even came with mainland Chinese power outlets. The host was very friendly and quick to respond to messages. It was also easy to find. The location is great for getting around, with the MTR station nearby. The only minor issue was that the room wasn't very soundproof. Despite that, I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hong Kong.

You just have to take the lift on the right hand. I suspect this was a thoughtful gesture, as their standard rooms are quite small, and the staff probably noticed our family of three had a lot of luggage. 2. **Convenient Location**: The hotel is very well-located for exploring. There are famous restaurants nearby, such as Australia Dairy Company and Mak Man Kee Noodle Shop (Michelin-rated). The hotel provides a food map at check-in. Temple Street Night Market is within walking distance, and there are several seafood stalls nearby selling live mantis shrimp, crabs, and razor clams. We didn't get a chance to try them this time, so I can't comment on the taste. It's also a pleasant walk to Tsim Sha Tsui and Victoria Harbour during the day. 3. **On-site Dining**: The hotel itself has a rich variety of dining options within its food street. 4. **Airport Shuttle**: The A21 airport bus is very convenient. It costs around HKD 30 (half-price for children) and you can get off at Ning Po Street, then it's a five-minute walk to the hotel. Payments can be made via WeChat Pay, Alipay, or credit card. Each person needs to scan their own QR code; you can't use one for multiple people. Make sure to prepare your payment beforehand, or you might get a scolding if you're too slow, and they don't give change. Cons: 1. **Aging Facilities in Suite**: The hotel is older, though it was renovated around 2018. While the room was clean, the facilities felt a bit dated. The most inconvenient part of the suite (room 725, for reference) was having to shower in the bathtub, as there was no separate shower stall. Moreover, the drainage was severely clogged and very slow. It started backing up the moment we turned on the water, not just halfway through the shower. By the end, the water would reach ankle-deep, which was quite exaggerated. I didn't complain because I felt it was due to the old building structure, and I doubted staff could fix it immediately. 2. **Restaurant Experience (Yat Tung Heen)**: One of the reasons we chose this hotel was the convenience of dining at Yat Tung Heen (a Michelin-starred restaurant). However, I personally found the roast meats and dim sum to be rather ordinary. If you consider yourself a connoisseur of roast meats and Hong Kong-style dim sum, you might want to skip it. The dining environment was pleasant, though. Furthermore, we booked for Monday lunch at 11 AM, not during a busy weekend, but by 12 PM, the manager came to ask if we wanted to order anything else because 'there were other guests waiting.' This was very impolite. If a customer declines extra orders, there's no need to add that last part; they might even appreciate the offer more. This incident further solidified my impression that customer service in Hong Kong can be lacking. After his question, I felt rushed and the rest of the meal was very tense.

I chose a twin room this time because the king-size rooms were smoking rooms. Our room was on a higher floor, close to the elevator yet still quiet, and we could see a partial view of Victoria Harbour from outside. The front desk service was exceptionally thoughtful; they would proactively offer help whenever they saw us. ## Hygiene and Facilities: The hotel seems to have been recently renovated. All the amenities are quite new and very clean, though the facilities themselves are relatively classic/retro. ## Breakfast: Breakfast was a mix of Western and Cantonese cuisine. The variety of dishes was relatively rich, and the Cantonese dim sum was delicious. They offered freshly cooked pork rib or fish ball noodles/vermicelli, and the most thoughtful part was being able to add as much noodles or vermicelli as you wanted.

Starry Inn is a walking distance to Ladies Market, restaurants and shops, Sneaker Street, banks, buses, etc. The staffs on WeChat are very responsive, nice and friendly. She allowed us to extend for an hour before check out. The room is fine, but the elevator in the building didn’t work twice or three times our stay. The wifi is sometimes slow or very slow, and you’re disconnected at times. The water in the toilet floor takes times to dry and the water stays longer when you take a shower. The aircon needs to be turned on at all times because it doesn’t work well, or the cooler needs to be repaired. The room is very hot. But overall, we had a peaceful stay. You can stay here if you want to save money for a group of 4.

Wonderful Stay at Marco Polo Gateway — Perfect Location, Excellent Food & Exceptional Service We recently stayed at Marco Polo Gateway, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The hotel’s location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and the harbor. It’s the perfect base for exploring Hong Kong. The service was exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and eager to assist, making me feel truly welcome throughout our stay. The food was another highlight — the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and the in-house dining was just as impressive. Everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Our room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable bedding and modern amenities that made it easy to relax after a day out. Overall, Marco Polo Gateway exceeded my expectations in every way. With its ideal location, excellent food, and outstanding service, it’s a top choice for anyone visiting Hong Kong. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean even though there were signs of wear and tear. Be aware that they provide daily disposable paper bath towels instead of cloth towels. No hand or face towels provided. I had to ask for hand soap to be provided to us. Hand sink shares the same area with beds. The safe battery was low by the fourth day. Bed linen was great and room keeping services were outstanding. We needed cleanup from an accident and they took care of it promptly for us.

I feel extremely lucky to have found this little gem in Hong Kong. The dorms are extremely well laid out, with plenty of space for the suitcase and personal belongings. The bedrooms and bathrooms are sparkling clean, the common areas are cosy, there's everything you need in terms of kitchen utensils, the water pressure in the showers is amazing, the rooftop is a really place to hang out in the evenings, and most of all, the host Patricia makes you feel at home. I got there solo, and after a few nights I'm leaving with a bunch of friends. This place certainly has a magical power 😊

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient! 📍Room 503, 5/F, Haiphong Mansion, 53-55 Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui (Take airport bus A21 to stop 14, Cameron Road, takes about 54 minutes). Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station is right downstairs, and the A21 airport bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away. I chose this hotel specifically to attend a concert at Kai Tak! It's about a 10-minute walk to Tsim East MTR station (from Tsim East, you can take the Tuen Ma Line directly to Kai Tak Sports Park, which is only 6 stops and very convenient, costing 6.8 HKD one way). However, the room is indeed very small. It's perfectly fine for one person, but for two adults, it might be a bit cramped, especially with luggage! So, I highly recommend it for solo travelers! Within about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, you can reach New Harbour City, K11, Avenue of Stars, and China Ferry Terminal (where you can pick up City Line tickets). For food, I recommend: 1. Genki Sushi on the 2nd floor of Silvercord, a 5-minute walk away (great value for money, the sashimi is really fresh, and the tuna trio is a must-try – the melt-in-your-mouth tuna is absolutely divine). 2. For dim sum breakfast, Kowloon Cafe is just a 3-minute walk downstairs. Their breakfast set includes a Hong Kong-style milk tea for just 3 HKD, and it tastes very authentic.

This family hotel is in a great location, just two blocks from Mong Kok Station. There's an elevator. The rooms are small, only 10 square meters, but they have everything you need (private bathroom with shower, air conditioning, a fan, and an adapter). Our room didn't have a window, but thankfully, we didn't feel stuffy. The owner is a beautiful woman and very kind. The staff are also very helpful and eager to help with any questions. We arrived early, and the owner even said there were two rooms available for us to choose from. The door requires a code, which is very secure. The value for money is excellent.

A pleasant surprise! There's a lively bar street right downstairs, attracting a fun international crowd. The front desk staff were excellent, explaining everything very clearly. The location is truly central. The bathrooms here are exceptionally spacious. Fantastic value for money! Just a heads-up, they no longer provide toothbrushes and toothpaste, so remember to bring your own.
