Pros: - nice room - clean - staff helped me carry my backpack to room and took me to where taxi pickup point was - location is centre to everything - nice views Cons: - at the top of a BIG hill (it says elevator is provided but it only brings you to the start of what are a VERY long climb of stairs to your room) - nowhere did it say the room would only be accessible via stairs (saying they have an elevator is very misleading), only because I read a review which mentioned there were stairs did I make a special request to have my bags kept at reception as I wouldn’t be able to bring them to my room. Even though I booked and made my request in advance (via Trip.com’s process when booking), they did not even read it so I had to deal with this problem once I arrived. - wiring in the shower (not sure if it’s save or not, but made me uncomfortable) - due to my tier level with Trip.com I was told I would get; late check out, room upgrade and free breakfast. When they checked me in and I asked about breakfast they told me that I didn’t have it included. After showing them I did, only then did they actually look at my booking - terrible. I then asked about the room upgrade as the hotel was not fully booked and they said that this was the room upgrade… it was not, this was the room I booked (which is fine, I just don’t appreciate being lied to when you clearly didn’t look at my booking). Overall thoughts: - if you only have one small bag that you can carry with ease, then it’s great - if you have large/multiple/heavy luggage don’t book here! You can get a day ticket to walk up the hill (where the hotel rooms are) for pictures of the view - Trip.com please get this hotel to actually look at the bookings made and to honour special requests and tier privileges where possible

Awesome view from room. Awesome food served at the hotel's restaurant. Room is very clean and the service staff (可乐) is very helpful. Always there to help and responsive on WeChat queries. The desk reception is also warm and friendly, she helped us arranged a full day guide for us which is very useful. We enjoyed the tour a lot and got to know a lot about Fenghuang and the Miao culture. The guide also brought us to the Miao Village (our highlight for the day) which we would not thought of going if not for her recommendation. Totally enjoyed our stay at Sulv Lianhua and would highly recommend anyone who is here for the first time to stay at this hotel.

This hotel is located downstream along the river. You can take a scenic walk along the riverside, crossing various bridges (such as Feng Bridge and Wu Bridge), until you reach Hong Bridge. From there, it's easy to access all the attractions in the ancient town. Compared to guesthouses near Hong Bridge or within the ancient town itself, the advantages here are convenient parking, fewer tourists passing by your window, and you can enjoy the singing from nearby performances in the evenings. The owner also has a tea room where you can relax and have some tea. Breakfast includes beef rice noodles, homemade mugwort cakes, and good fruit.

My friends and I chose Fenghuangcheng Hotel for our trip to Fenghuang Ancient Town, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel's location is excellent, right by the Tuojiang River. We booked a deluxe twin room, and to our pleasant surprise, they upgraded us to a river-view room – definitely a perk of traveling during the off-season! We could enjoy the beautiful views of the Tuojiang right from our room's balcony, and it was especially pretty at night when the lights came on. The hotel's service was also very thoughtful; the lady at the front desk enthusiastically told us about nearby attractions and even helped us plan our itinerary. We also visited the Fenghuang China Giant Panda Garden and saw adorable giant pandas – I never expected to see pandas outside of Sichuan!

At the beginning, the mountain road was really difficult to drive, and it still requires an experienced driver. Only those who drive know... When I got off the car, I thought, miserable, is it really a rural area? Later, the aunt who led the way took us to the house we had booked. The outside looked like it was built of stones, which is said to be a local feature. The decoration inside was still very comfortable, with light colors and a small skylight. Basic facilities were all available (air conditioning is a must), but don't think about refrigerators and washing machines. The hygiene was pretty good. Although there were many bugs in the mountains, there were really no bugs in the house. As long as you don't keep the door open, you don't have to worry about bugs in the room. We later changed to the house above, so that the lighting was better and there were not many people living here. People who like quietness are here. It's 20 minutes away from the city. It's really comfortable to live here. The lady is very nice and speaks very gently. The noodles made by the aunt are really delicious and very enthusiastic. Shower gel, toothbrush, etc. are all very useful. There are fields and woods all around, a good place to relax. If the budget allows, I really want to stay for two more weeks. There are many scenic spots at the foot of the mountain. The B&B also provides tickets to the nearby castle and Zhushan Miao Village, which is very grand (●°u°●) ” It would be more convenient to come here if you have a car. Don't be scared away by the mountain roads when you come, hahaha. Finally, the air is really good. In mid-July, I didn't feel hot even if I didn't turn on the air conditioner for a day. The average temperature was around 25℃. It even drizzled a little on the day we left, which was super comfortable!

Hotel is in a great location in the main square of the old town, just around the corner from the river. It's maybe a 15 minute walk along the river to the main bridge. The hotel is super clean with a nice design. The front desk staff were very helpful with where to eat and main spots to see. We even got upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the parking lot! Keep in mind, taxis will drop you off at the main square entrance, so you'll have to walk with your luggage to the hotel, but it's a very short walk, only about 100m. No breakfast, but there are tons of breakfast eateries in the square. Would definitely recommend!

This B&B offers a breathtaking view at every turn, a truly charming experience. Mr. Shen Congwen would have loved this courtyard, complete with flowers, trees, bamboo, and beautiful views. The rooms are also beautifully decorated. The housekeeper sent us a route map the day before and monitored our progress. Electric cars provided shuttles to the entrance of Fenghuang Ancient Town, offering a tranquil escape amidst the bustle. There's even a swimming pool in the courtyard, which the children loved. The rice noodles for breakfast were also delicious, as was the pickled radish. The downsides: 1. The water pressure in the shower was too low. Although the housekeeper promptly addressed it, I was still not entirely satisfied. There was also a foul odor in the bathroom, and there were no windows for ventilation. 2. The soft furnishings in the room could be improved, such as adding fragrances or placing some of Mr. Shen's books on the sideboard.

The parking lot is large and there is a place to play badminton. It is also close to the ancient city. Overall, it is not bad and recommended.

The room is the same as the picture, unlike many hotels that are badly decorated, the hardware facilities are also very complete, the bed is really comfortable, hygienic and clean, and the environment is beautiful and comfortable. The most important thing is that it is right in the middle of the core scenic spot of the ancient city. You can reach the river in a few minutes' walk, and you will not be affected by the noise of the bars at night. This hotel really surprised me! From the moment you step into Datang, you can feel its high quality and professional services. The front desk staff are warm and courteous and always meet my needs in the first time.
