The hotel is away from the city centre but it is easily accessible by metro. Staff at check-in and breakfast are friendly. We had a triple room, it consists of a double bed and a sofa bed in a separate area. The first night, there were no bed sheets provided for the sofa bed. We went down to the front desk and sheets were delivered to our room promptly. The next day, housekeeping provided a proper blanket and towels for the sofa bed, which is good. I recommend that they should provide these on the first night for triple rooms though. Our room has a jetted tub, but it never worked in the 5 nights we stayed. Other than this, our stay was good. The room has modern decor and a balcony. Breakfast is great with a lot of options: different types of bread with tomato paste and olive oil to add, scrambled egg, sausages, fresh fruits, yogurt, veggies, coffee, tea and juice. Breakfast staff did an excellent job in keeping all the items refilled very quickly.
Fantastic location. Very friendly staff. Plenty of restaurants and things to do within walking distance. Enjoyed the rooftop bar. Room could be bigger, but no complains. Would love to come again.

The location was excellent and I felt very safe when out for a run in the early morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the hotel breakfast and it was perfectly acceptable -- nothing spectacular but no problems either. The shower in particular was a problem in that it drained poorly, was very slippery when wet (see: drained poorly), and caused a lot of flooding on the floor of the main bathroom, which increased the slippery danger. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated the staff leaving an extra pillow in the armoire if we wanted it.

The staff and location were great! The 24 hour snack buffet was below average and the attendant was very cranky. The hotel is in dire need of repairs and updating. The interior is very dated, room carpeting was dirty with no luggage racks provided, leaving us to place suitcases on the floor. The sliding shower doors made a hideous screaching noise with each use and did not contain the water, creating a floor flood with each use. The towels need replacing- worn and rough. The bathroom fan didn’t work. The drapery was detaching from both windows. Overall very disappointing.
We had a 4 night stay at Hostal felipe 2. The rooms were really small, they don’t look as big as projected in the photographs. The rooms even though small were clean, the shared bathrooms were also cleaned on regular basis by the Staff. The cleaning lady was very polite and helpful. The reception staff was very helpful and always guided and helped us. One other issue was on one of the day there was a scheduled electric work and the hostal had not informed people or made any provisions, it was difficult 3-4 hours without any power – very small window and no power back up. Would not be recommended
