very good hotel and close to the beach: room was very clean/ Breakfast was OK

We like this hotel, the rooms are nice with one exception which unfortunately has a negative impact on the generally good impression. The very large door to the bathroom consist mainly of Milk-glass and is facing the bed. So during the night, when you use the bathroom, a very bright light shines on the person in the bed, bright enough to wake-up the person.

Excellent location. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast had a good selection. Rooms were very nice, modern and clean.

Great location. New hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. I booked a king suite for a couple getaway in December. The room layout was nice with good lighting. Bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows! Our ac and heat worked well. The only thing to note is our bathroom used a barn door so if you need privacy this might bother you. Also, the barn door had frosted glass so when you turn on the lights at night it floods the bed with light. Might be an issue for some. Our room was on the main floor and luckily we weren't sleeping in because there was noisy activity in our halllway because we were near the gym and main lobby. They also have snacks and drinks that you can buy which was nice. There underground parking is great. I'd stay here again.

We stayed here to go to the street fair and it was absolutely the best choice. The location was perfect, a block from everything. The room was huge and clean. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. They were so kind to give us a guest parking pass for my son who came to visit for a few hours. Fantastic hotel all around.

Cristina and I can't recall if it was Chris at the front desk but they were so sweet and made us feel so welcomed. They even brought us an Anniversary gift I was really touched. Room was clean, beds were super comfortable, loved how we could just walk down to the beach.

Room was lovely. Pitiful breakfast. Options were mostly processed foods, and no scratch made items. Few healthy choices were available. Had to go elsewhere to eat. Also was disappointed that there was an expensive fee for parking on the premises.

The property itself is nice, and in a great location. I've been coming to the village of carlsbad for 25 years on vacations. The rooms are nice, except that i found several long black hairs throughout the room. I can handle a lot of things when it comes to hotels, but hair is not one of them. That is unacceptable, especially in a brand new hotel, and how much i paid for a Monday and Tuesday night. I told the front desk, and they said all they could do is have a housekeeper come up the next morning and clean the room again at around 9:00 am. I asked if i could switch rooms, and then i got a bit of an attitude from the front desk employee, they said... "that's absolutely not possible, we have no more rooms, and you were already told that housekeeping would be there at 9:00 to pick up the hair." I told them that's great, but my kids need to take a shower tonight, and there is three long black hairs in the shower.. then with a very rude tone, i was told that the hotel has done everything in there power, and i need to just wait until the following morning.
