野外總統度假村(Wilderness Presidential Resort)

This RV park should rate a higher review, however the downsides keep it low. Parts of the park are nice such as the indoor heated pool. But one problem was the terrible potholes throughout the park which make getting through with an RV difficult. The first spot we were assigned did not have the electric box on the correct side and our usual cord didn't reach it so we had to move to a different site. Some lots are reservable for travelers but others are owned by year round/season folks. Some of those units were very nice and the lots were well kept. Others were occupied by units that looked like they had been parked there and abandoned. Some were sitting with flat tires, with tarps over the roof, covered with moss and one is sitting there with a large tree on top of it. See pictures I attached. Apparently the park owners do not have standards that need to be kept, otherwise some of these units would have been kicked out.

Cabins are designed to be rustic which may not appeal to everyone but they are clean and comfortable. Our cabin was lake front but many are not. The lake is beautiful and peaceful. Cabins are at the back of a very large campground with many long time permanent trailers. We visited in the shoulder season but I would expect it to be very busy and possibly noisy in season

The gas fireplace was still working in April. Turned off in warmer weather. Nice gas grill outside. Two heavy rocking chairs. The upstairs hot tub ran out of hot water before filling up. Temporarily no maintenance service after 5 pm. Must contact security after 5.

Everything was so smooth, from the check in to check out. We really enjoyed the beautiful water views and the hot tub! I wish the indoor pool was open a little later, but the kids were able to get in an hour of swimming before it closed. The cabin was well stocked with all essentials and was clean and cozy! We will be back for sure!

overall it was better than i expected. easy to access from the main highway (route 3), peaceful, helpful security staff, and the cabin was in very good shape. everything promised was present, clean and worked well. the only downside was that to get to my cabin one must pass some campers and motor homes that looked as if they'd been abandoned for quite some time. however, the result was aesthetic only -- there were no practical implications. since we were there very early spring, there were few others around -- which suited us fine.

In the middle of a Civil War bettlefield, with lots of amenities, but aging buildings and poor service from front staff, security and laundry dpear**ent. The lakes, desc gold course and the staff working the entertainment were great.

Girls weekend trip - great adventure. It poured all weekend so it was all indoor activities - but the experience was great. Only down side was we would have LOVED to have had blankets for the beds. Beautiful, clean, friendly, we will be back.

Presidential resort is an excellent place to go and get away from the big city life. It has many things you can do outdoors, fish, walking trials, gym, boating, and indoor and outdoor pool. I love the cabin because it quiet and had all the comforts of home.

If you want a cozy getaway with your family close from Washington DC this is the best place to stay. We came during winter and even though we were trapped one day because of a storm there is no best place to have a relaxing getaway. Everyone was super nice and kind. Don’t hesitate and just book it.
