Beautiful period property with great location and beautiful bedrooms

Great value and nice room. Needs a little investment

美麗的建築，優越的地理位置，糟糕的管理。上次住的時候，淋浴根本不能用。這次，馬桶座圈掉下來了，排風扇不工作了，做的早餐也冷了。接待處同意這是一個問題，但表示這是他們無法控制的！最初我得到了退款，但後來他們決定我應該問********。這曾經是一家很棒的飯店，但現在急需新的管理。

This ancient hotel needs upgrades & TLC. Lift (elevator) not working, and 3rd floor room was reached by climbing a maze of several different stairways. No heat/Air conditioning controls in room and windows could not be opened, no ventilation whatsoever (a concern during COVID), room was very hot even though outside temp was cool (would be uninhabitable in summer). No Wifi in room. Heated towel bar & sink stopper did not work, peeling paint in bathroom. Young, poorly trained staff.

The hotel is very old and therefore very dated but we expected that. When we arrived despite specifying that we needed a twin room our room was set up as a double but the staff were really good and went to split the bed and gave us a complimentary drink. The room was spacious but I don’t think it had been cleaned. The sink had hairs in it and we had only one milk capsule which had a best before date of November 2023 so we weren’t able to have a hot drink. We went down to reception to ask for someone but no one was there.

We were hoping for a quiet and relaxing stay, but both nights we were disturbed by a lot of noise (the manager tried to tell us it was drunken guests but that was not the case. to suggest this is insulting to the handful of guests that were staying. All were elderly and certainly not the type to roll in drunk at 2.45 am. It was staff and everyone who complained know full well this is the case. We were refused dinner on Saturday evening because the kitchen was closed for a function. We had not been warned about this, and had to venture out in the bitter cold, when all we wanted to do was eat at the hotel and hang around there for the evening. On Sunday morning, having waited 45 minutes for our breakfast, which we had prepaid for, we were told that the had run out of food, so we wouldn't be getting any breakfast. We complained, and have just received a full refund, however we are not at all happy with the way the manager swept most of our complaints under the carpet. Reading between the lines, she didnt want to antagonise the staff, all of whom seemed pretty unhappy in any case. I understand that the hospitality industry is having a staffing crisis, but this hotel will have a customer crisis soon, if they don't learn how to treat their paying guests properly.

Beautiful historic hotel. 800 years old so lots of wonderful features. Absolutely lovely staff. So friendly and helpful. It is in position A if you are visiting Salisbury. Would definitely return

Good location but old hotel and needs a refurb. In my room the bin had not been emptied and there was a dirty used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door.
