阿爾特波斯特酒店(Alte Post)

Wir haben für Montag abends für 5 Freunde reserviert. Wir fanden die ganze Gaststätte gut gefüllt vor, unser Tisch war schön eingedeckt. Kellnerin und Wirt haben uns gut umsorgt. Wir haben sehr gut gegessen: Prosciutto und Käse als Vorspeise für alle, dann Suppen und Zwiebelrostbraten und Hirschbraten. Als Nachspeise wurden Palats*****en mit Nussfülle (wie früher! ) oder Marillenmarmelade serviert. - Alles sehr gut, mit Liebe gemacht, zeitgleich serviert. Preis passt auch, gerne wieder. Nix auszusetzen. Gepflegtes rustikales Ambiente.

Wir kamen zu viert und wurden nett begrüßt. Die Leberknödelsuppe schmeckte wie bei Oma, die Garnelencremsuppe erinnerte an eine (sehr gute) Cocktailsauce und das Rindercapaccio wunderbar frisch. Zur Hauptspeise gab es ein leckeres Postpfandl, welches aus Schweinsfilet in Schwammerlsauce, Kroketten und Karfiol bestand, Gnocci mit Räucherlachs die genau die richtige Konsistenz hatten und Tagliatelle mit Rucola und Prosciutto. Der absolute Höhepunkt für mich war aber die Kalbsleber mit Zwiebel uns Salzkartoffeln: butterzart und auf dem Punkt geröstet! Gerne wieder, falls es uns nochmals in diese Gegend verschlägt.

Due to traffic jam we arrived very late in the night, but they waited for us and offered us something to drink upon the arrival. All of the employees were so friendly and offered their help, it made us feel comfortable. The rooms are looking great and I have never seen such ambition for cleanliness. You could literally eat from the floor, they took care of every little corner in the room and you werent able to even find a speck of dust. Next to the hotel you have a small river and if you open the window of your room you can hear it flowing and enjoy the sounds of nature. The whole enviroment in Feistritz an der Gail is peaceful and giving you the opportunity to let go of all the Stress you have. But also offers you a ton of other things to do. You can go skiing, climbing, hiking or just enjoy a good glas of wine by the lake. We have eaten in the restaurant of Alte Post and can recommend it too. The meals are delicious, local and the prices are affordable. Overall this was one of our greatest holidays thanks to the service and the great, peaceful enviroment. We will definitly come back another time!

Gasthof Alte Post is an ok 3 star hotel- restaurant with sufficiently spacious and clean rooms. Locals have a beer here in the afternoon. Restaurant serves regional Menu with fish and meat courses accompanied by beer or some local wines. Few basic cocktails - limited. Staffis overall friendly although the lady of the house is not immediately in for humour.

We wanted to get some coffee and iced hot chocolate on our way home from the mountains and decided to stop here. Oh what a delight. The drinks were delicious but even more noteable- the owner was charming and funny, engaged us in a conversation upon serving us, told us some anecdotes from his life and was all in all very hospitable. We will be back to this clean and beautiful Gasthof to have lunch or dinner soon. It’s well worth a trip!
