Stayed three nights with my wife & also had our main meals & drinks here. This was school half-term & very busy with the pub absolutely inundated at times with varied parties of walkers, kids & dogs. Our first impression was that the staff knew what they were doing & coped amazingly well. But our main impression was that their overriding aim was always to help the customer. Ref bedrooms, ours was surprisingly spacious for a village pub, comfortable and easy to operate (eg the shower.) Thank you staff for a comfortable stay, you deserve to be successful.

Exceptional service, exceptional food, exceptional staff - enough said!!! We dined here a few times during the week and enjoyed a fantastic welcome and wonderful service. The food was also beautifully cooked. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Fantastic stay, great staff, good food superb location. A St Austell pub. Good beers, great atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay despite the bad weather. Hope Cove is an amazing place, so beautiful. The staff are so good, well trained, professional and friendly

Really lovely 3 night stay, with excellent friendly and helpful staff, wonderful food, delicious actually. Great location with a terrace for looking at the sea with a glass of wine and watching the sun go down. What more can you ask for. The dining area had sea views too. Rooms were quaint and very clean with a sea view. Very accommodating manager as we were concerned about scaffolding but it was all ok and didn’t spoil our stay or our view. Very peaceful and the quietest little cove with some truly spectacular scenery nearby.Love

Lovely inn right by the beach, with very friendly staff. The rooms are very well appointed and furnished. There was scaffolding up during our one-night visit but we were warned in advance, and it reflects the work they do to keep the inn looking good. Great tasting dinner and breakfast, from a broad menu. Hope Cove itself is a beautiful little place, perfect for a relaxed weekend or week away. Also a great place to explore Devon from. Would def recommend.

My wife and I are walking the SW coast path (in stages) and stayed at the Hope and Anchor on Saturday 10 May. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Shame about the scaffolding outside, but I realise old buildings require maintenance and we still had a pretty unrestricted sea view. We had a good meal in the evening and service was efficient. The best thing about our stay was that all the staff were very friendly and helpful, despite the pub being very busy. If I had to single out one member of staff it would be the young lady - Lancashire lass - who served us breakfast on Sunday morning: very personable, excellent people skills, a breath of fresh air. Overall, our experience of the Hope and Anchor was very positive: we'd certainly come back, hopefully for longer.

Really friendly staff and helpfull All food was tasty & excellent quality. The bed was so comfy could of stayed in it all day. The views from the upstairs restaurant are uninterrupted of the sea. Beach couldn't be much closer. Definitely a place we will go again thanks

Set in a lovely position by the beach with beautiful walks along the coastal path.The staff are brilliant and they can’t do enough for you after a couple of hiccups which were dealt with very quickly and very professionally. The breakfasts were very good and Louise was great at looking after us. We would highly recommend a stay at the Hope And Anchor thank you Shane Lee and the whole team for a lovely stay .

Brilliant pub. Position is second to none opposite the beach Accomodation was superb Food was utterly amazing The real star is the staff - everything single person was so lovely, smiley and helpful. We had Jazz serving us through lunch and dinner who was great fun. All in all the stay, for two couples who had managed to get away without children, it was just what we wanted. I can’t recommend highly enough and we will be back.

Friendly and helpful team. Shaun was brilliant and the young man who looked after us at dinner (Lee??) but tbh all the team were really fab and so engaged. Showing us to a better table, highlighting the subset, chatty, warm, welcoming. Fabulous rooms Gorgeous food and wine Hope cove is heaven on earth - I want to live there!

We booked a Deluxe Double coastal view room. The room was clean and spacious and well equipped with decent tea and coffee making facilities. The staff were incredibly friendly and could not have been more helpful. The pub menu was great. Breakfast menu and buffet could not be faulted, lots of choice and freshly cooked as well. We would definitely stay again. Our only gripe was the very creaky floorboards on the second floor which woke us up every morning when the upstairs guests were wandering around at 6am. (Not the hotels fault). A second floor room might be a better option if you like a lie-in.

We had 2 nights at this lovely costal pub. The staff are great, very friendly and all seemed happy in their work! We stayed in a dog friendly sea view room which was great. As well as the pub we ate in the bar/ restaurant next door which I would also recommend. Breakfast menu was extensive. Don’t delay book today!!

Great country hotel in a beautiful location. Friendly staff and good food make for a most enjoyable stay. Positioned virtually on the beach and the start point to some great walks it is an ideal place for a short break or longer holiday. Thoroughly recommend it.

We loved everything about our stay. The location is breathtaking, the perfect resting spot for walking the SW coastal path. Our room was large and comfortable, with wonderful sea views. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We will definitely book again
