Casa de los Suenos is THE place to stay when you would rather feel like an old friend than a guest. From the moment that you book to your arrival on site, they are there every step of the way to help you get to your final destination. And in my case that was destination relaxation. This is probably the most important part of my review, so I'll include it first. As a young-ish solo female traveler, I felt 100% comfortable staying here. There is always someone in the main lobby keeping an eye on things and they lock the main front door from 11:00pm to 7:00am. The staff will call you by your first name from day 1, making you feel seen and acknowledged and most of all, cared for. Thank you to Chris, Roger, and Carlos. As its located in the Southern part of Isla, you'll need to consider transportation options if you really want to explore. They have bikes on site that you can use and if you arrange it ahead of time, they will have a golf cart waiting for you upon arrival that they make sure is always full of gas and just added to your tab at check out. By far the easiest and most reliable way to get a cart on the island. It takes approx 25-30 minutes to drive via golf cart from Case to the North Beach. I also love how they have the partnership with the restaurant below, Kin Ha. Excellent breakfast that comes with your stay. The view is breathtaking and Gil who curated the playlist is a genius with the tunes that play as you dine. There are also pools, a water swing, kayaks etc, and snorkeling right there included. The rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a fridge. My room, the exec king suite was more than I could have hoped for, especially when you consider the sweeping views of the ocean. The pool is divine and cleaned daily. One of my favorite parts, the house pups Marvin and Nina, (and even the cat Maggie) were perhaps my most favorite feature. They are the sweetest and must fun Casa mascots. If you're lucky they will even walk you down to breakfast! One note of improvement, which they are working on, is the company that they contract with for the transfer service. It was a little bit discombobulated on the way there, but everything worked out in the end. Chris personally took down my feedback and shared it with the company so that hopefully things go more smoothly for future guests (note that this is not a reflection of Casa, just a vendor they work with). If your thinking hmmm I usually stay in name brand hotels (trust me, I am a Marriott loyalist to an extreme level), do not do that here on Isla. Stay here. The experience is part of being on the Island. You will love your time on the island that much more if you stay at Casa de los Suenos. It really is a dream.
訪訪客If you're looking for a place with great service, this is it. Every single staff member was more than courteous. This is the second Excellence resort we visited and although similar every resort has its own experience and shine. Although you may be tempted to check out the steak house or the seafood restaurant for dinner, we highly recommend checking out the AGAVE restaurant. Not only did they highlight traditional local dishes but again the service was great! Our Hostess Alexandra, was friendly, made us feel more than welcome, and gave us some great tips as to what to do at the resort!
訪訪客This place is in a remote location on the beach which is nice in theory but terribly executed. I would avoid staying here overnight at all costs. They can't decide if they are a beach club or a hotel, but in reality they are neither. The staff needs some proper training in hospitality, especially the girl at the front desk who never smiles and makes you feel like she's doing you a favour. She threw our ID's back at us when we were checking in. I once asked her for some more bottled water for our room and she rolled her eyes and the water didn't even arrive! The rooms are average and the ‘fresh’ towels were full of stains! When we booked, we didn’t mind the remote location and not having any shops/ restaurants around but we realised very quickly that they had serious issues with the kitchen which was located outside of the hotel so the dishes would take 1-2 hours to arrive. The food is extremely overpriced and they give you very small portions so you order more as you have no choice because there is nothing else around! This included half a bagel for breakfast and an omelette with no toast, even though the menu says bread is included. We were even asked to pay more if we wanted a cappuccino for our breakfast. I never stayed anywhere that a cappuccino is considered extra for an included breakfast! The menu they offer is very different to what you can actually order - we wanted burgers but they didn't have these even though they're on the menu. We ordered the same vegetarian pasta dish two nights in a row, on the first night it came with only carrots and on the second night it came with completely different vegetables. The waiters were friendly, especially Ruben and they tried their best but they said rules are the rules and they cannot make changes. I am so surprised to see similar reviews starting from a year ago and yet no improvements by the management. The management team clearly don't care about improving or know how to order supplies for their kitchen. It is nice to stay somewhere remote with a beautiful beach but it was very hard to switch off due to the constant hospitality issues and feelings that the staff are trying to make as much money off you as possible. Management needs a serious wakeup call or else this place won't last much longer.
訪訪客Had an amazing time at this property. My high rating is based on the bang-for-buck + location. We stayed in the Castle Rooms across the street from the main building and while the rooms we more basic than I have ever seen, the price and location made it all worth while. If you are looking for beautiful decor/artwork, fresh flowers, stocked fridge and over the top service then keep looking. If you are looking for a quick getaway directly on a perfect beach that will not break the bank then consider this option. We spent very little time in the unit except for sleep and shower. The room was very clean with daily housekeeping, the AC worked wonderfully and the little fridge was ice cold. The lack of in-room Wifi was new to us but no biggie....we downloaded some movies/series etc. before we got there and also downloaded some more when we were there either by sitting by the pool or at Buho's.....or, at the end of the hallway closest to Buho's....different experience for us but actually nice to be completely unplugged from reality. We have stayed all over the Island except for Centro. Each previous time we kept a golf cart for the entire week so it was nice to save a bit here because we just didn't need it every day....everything was so close to walk to which was a really nice change. Never had an issue with loud music from the Bar etc. as reported by several others. Also never had an issue with service. The front desk staff were on the most part very pleasant and reacted to any issue that we had promptly. I have never been to IM and not experienced some kind of power outage or water issue so this is hard to blame on the property itself. The longest that we were without power was really only a couple of hours and seemed to be all of Centro if not more and the water pressure was very good and hot or cold as you wanted it. The ability to flush toilet paper when on IM is also a common request from every property that we have been to.....small island + tons of tourists = drainage issues. The pool was smallish but clean and we rarely saw more than 3-4 ppl there at a time.....many times empty. We paid approx. $1250 each which included flight from Toronto/Canada and accommodations (tax included). A few years ago I would not have thought that this was a deal but with todays pricing it was as good as it gets....especially considering that we didn't even need to put on shoes to walk to the beach.....50 steps at the most from our doorway. We did a ton of research on this place so there were absolutely no surprises. I love touring the Island so a full-time golf cart is something we always treat ourselves to but there is really no need to have it every day when this close to the action so, this time, we only rented on 3 or 4 of the days. I also tried a scooter this year for the first time.....I was always intimidated and scared to crash but, after a while, I got the hang of it and was very comfortable booting around especially early morni
