The樹堪蒂(The Trees, Kandy)

Me hospede en el hotel con mis dos hijas. El hotel q es muy nuevo.Linda pileta , buen emplazamiento pero tuve un problema muy serio. Habia mucho personal que limpiaba las habitaciones, llevaba agua, preguntaba si necesitabamos algo.Y como sorpresa no habia caja fuerte en las habitaciones por ello el mismo deje mis valores en mi carrion con candado númerico y mis hijas en sus valijas con candado de llaves cada una Termine mi estadia y sin reparar lo que me había sucedido me fui a otra ciudad. Al llegar al proximo hotel q si tenia caja fuerte comprobé que me faltaban 1450 euros q evidentemente me habían ribado en el hotel The Tree Llame al hotel y no se responsabilizaron de nada, diciendo que averiguarían, preguntarían a los del piso, a los que limpiaron, etc. que averiguarian pero nada pasó ni me llamaron. Yo si volví a llamar varias veces y venían con evasivas sin responder. Algo muy grave lo sucedido . Sí recuerdo que cuando estaba por irme del hotel The Trees me sorprendió ver que el candado de mi carrión estaba en el número con el que cerraba nunca lo dejo en ese mismo número sino q una vez cerrado con la combinación cambio los números que se visibilizan. No pensé que evidentemente alguien me había abierto el candado y sustraído parte del dinero que allí tenía.....pero en el siguiente hotel vi me faltaba esa importante suma..... Como ustedes saben esos candados que pueden parecer inviolables no lo son....los pueden abrir sin que uno se de cuenta....de esto me enteré una vez que vi lo que me habían robado. Ha sido muy grave lo ocurrido y ya no me daba el tiempo pata volverme atras regresar al hotel a Kandy e ir a la policia a denunciarlo pues perderia mi avion a sudamerica ….....

We had 2 rooms,a suite with a lake view and a deluxe room with a lake view for 2 nights.The view especially from the suite was really good. Unfortunately we had so many issues too many to mention all but a few were the air conditioning in the suite was only noticeable in the living area but it was not directed towards the bedroom so it was really hard to get a good night sleep unless you slept in the living area. The aircon units are obviously too small for the deluxe room as it never really got cool enough when you were trying to sleep.The dining room had no aircon at all and even though the dinner and service was good and we were the only people in the dining room,it was very unpleasant without the air conditioning. They gave each of us a different password for the Internet that had to be replaced with a different password every couple of hours even though it says it last for 24 hours. When someone gets into the roof top pool the water was dripping onto the balcony of the deluxe room. There is no place to hang your towel when you are in the suite shower but the deluxe room had a hook behind the door. The lighting switches were difficult to understand and the bathroom fan constantly roared, they also wanted us to pay for 2 extra water bottles which is unheard of in Sri Lanka .This hotel cost us nearly AUD $400 for a night for a deluxe room and management obviously opened without checking or testing anything in the hotel first. One day this hotel may be worth while trying again,if the price comes down but at the moment being one of the dearest in Kandy, you can certainly do better.

Beautiful new hotel set on the hillside with great views overlooking Kandy and the lake Hotel is stylish and we had a very warm welcome. Room was lovely and a comfortable bed. The rooftop pool is beautiful and a great place to unwind after time in the city. Note- Currently no alcohol licence but we were only here for one night and not a problem. Breakfast was really nice. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Brand new hotel recently opened, so everything looks new and good quality fittings. Members of staff were very attentive to our needs. Views are great because the hotel is up in the hill so you get beautiful views of the lake and temples. Great rooftop pool with infinity view. We really enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast

We loved the staff, the interiors and the food....the pool and the views are amazing. The only reason we are not giving 5 stars is there are no room safes and when we went for a swim or breakfast, our cash was stolen....wallets and bags searched and most of the cash removed (not all) but over 2K ...such a shame, such a beautiful property.

This is such an elegant and relaxing hotel, a very short walk to the lake in Kandy and so putting so many things you want to do, right on the doorstep. Romesh and his team made sure we had everything we needed, the staff and service were uniformly terrific, it is a new hotel and super clean and everything was in top order and condition. Many hours spent in and out of the rooftop pool, listening to the sounds of Kandy - the bells, the chanting, the bird song, the hum of the town - and watching the extraordinary natural world that coexists with the human one - the monkeys, parrots, butterflies, and at dusk the flight of the fruit bats going out for the night, as the crows are coming home. Just amazing. Everything you want in a hotel and perfectly judged service - genuinely warm and friendly and helpful, but also discreet. We would definitely go back. Newly built hotel with great views over the lake. Easy access into town by a shortcut which is not on google maps and shown to me by staff member. All staff helpful and professional. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and so was the evening meal. The pool is welcome in the heat but there are not that many sunloungers. Overall an oasis of calm in a noisy and busy city. Great to sit on balcony and just watch the action in the late afternoon.

Great location (just outside of busy Kandy), SUPER clean rooms, really peaceful pool, amazing staff, lovely buffet breakfast/dinner and a la carte lunch. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come again. It would be even better if the bar area had more ambience.

This hotel has the feeling of not quite being finished. We stayed in a suite, which had a small kitchen but not a single piece of cutlery or crockery. There were also no hooks in the bathroom to hang a towel and only a small number of hangers. The restaurant was very hot and humid. There was no bar/alcohol served. The roof top pool has amazing views if the lake and tooth temple site, as did our room.
