埃爾門泰塔湖塞里納露營酒店(Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp)

Na de al eerder in de reviews genoemde zeer bobbelige weg is de aankomst bij het tent-camp indrukwekkend. Receptie/eetgedeelte zien er perfect uit. De incheck ging stroef: kamer was niet klaar. Er werd niets verteld over de afternoon thee. Er ontbraken nogal wat zaken in onze tent, zoals een 2 e paraplu, een telefoon, geen informatiebulletin over de Spa, geen tissues, geen kluis ( moesten we maar afgeven aan de receptie) Tent is nogal gedateerd: komt nauwelijks koud water uit de kraan, geen handdouche, Oud meubilair, ene gordijn is 10 cm tekort. Daarnaast is de service van het personeel, muv de security, slordig, niet attent Vergeten om screenshot dicht te doen, 10 minuten wachten voor een ijsemmer voor de wijn, 20 minuten wachten op brood, worstjes bij ontbijt, wachten op de lunch box die niet op tijd klaar was. Personeel loopt stuurloos rond, weten niet wat ze moeten doen. Vegen de vloer als je zit te ontbijten ?, De drivers eten in het zelfde restaurant als de gasten.?! Het eten is matig, alle maaltijden de zelfde groenten. Wat algemene zaken: je kan vanuit de tent niet naar het meer lopen ivm hek voor dieren, de auto’ s op de doorgaande weg hoor je bij de tent, bungalows staan niet echt ruim van elkaar. Tent-camp is niet echt ingericht op safari reizigers. Vroegste tijd om te ontbijten is 6.30 uur.

Enroute Maasai Mara from Amboseli National Park, we stopped over at Lake Elmentaita Serena Camp which bowled us over with the excellent food, service and luxurious accomodation. However, we were quite disappointed with the lack of wild life as there was only a shallow water body with some flamingos, ducks, cranes etc, which we already was at Amboseli lake. Would have enjoyed Nakuru and Lake Naivasha lot better with lot more wild life and birds.

This was the last stop on our latest safari and it was a welcome relaxing stop after over a week in the bush. The staff was attentive to every detail and provided for us without fail. The food and drink is excellent. The property is more accurately described as resort level rather than texted camp. Highly recommended.

I have just completed my third stay at the idyllic Serena Camp, Lake Elmentaita. I travel frequently and I have to admit this is one of my happiest places in the world. The staff are exceptional, I simply cannot fault them, from the Askari, to the grounds staff, to Elizabeth the manager, Dennis and the rest of the waiters, to Chef Leah, to Dorothy and the reception team, Gad and Brian at the pool, Matthew in housekeeping and Denge the incredible wildlife guide and naturalist, Elizabeth and Rose in the spa who give the best massages ever and who helped me overcome my hideous sciatica pain. All, far too many to mention are truly awesome. The location of the camp on the shores of Lake Elmentaita, is perfect. A dining room overlooking the lake and water hole which is frequented by so many animals; on my short trip I saw water buck, buffalo, zebra and so many tropical birds. Sitting around the fire bowl, overlooking the water hole wrapped in a shuka (Masai cloak) is a highlight. The rooms are amazing, the most comfortable beds ever, fabulous linen, spacious bathrooms with capacious bath robes, two showers and his and hers sinks and a view of the lake from the bathroom window! The food is plentiful and I particularly enjoyed the salads and delicious home made soups. The pool is a bonus, never busy. It is heated yet still refreshing and I loved looking out at the acacia trees and lake whilst swimming. I arrived at this camp after some busy volunteering in schools and left invigorated and raring to go again. If this all sounds too good to be true, it isn’t, try it for yourself. Was this helpful?

Fantastic little heaven and place to be, Serene ambience, beautiful scenery, perfect place to relax and amazing and excellent customer care services from everyone right from the security guards to all hotel staffs. The highlight is the amazing food prepared by Jeff Aluvi,great dedication and excellent work and Waiter Dennis, did a great job.

This was such a great place! I enjoyed the food, activities and beautiful views there. The kids also enjoyed and made other friends while at it. I enjoyed Yoga, the horse rides, the food (good and available throughout) :-) We also made friends with a family there. I would strongly recommend that you go there

Spent a lovely day and night here with another couple. The camp is set in beautiful grounds with a spectacular view of Lake Elementaita. The rooms overlooking the lake are spacious, with a comfortable bed, and amazing shower!!! We enjoyed horse-riding and archery (this was a lot of fun with Brian and Salam). The staff are friendly and well versed on the flora and fauna in the area. The food is nothing to write home about, but the chef was kind enough to customize some of the menu items for us. And the guitar player was a special treat. All in all, a good stay.

The hotel is beautiful overlooking the lake . The rooms are beautiful and rustic and well appointed . The attentive staff make the stay even better. My daughter had an amazing birthday. The pool is heated which means you can have an early morning swim . Brian and Patrick are the best and our guide too . One down side the menu has very limited portion please add more options Thank you for singing happy birthday for my daughter. We will definitely be coming back.

La chambre est grande avec une terrasse et une belle vue. Nous avons trouvé le lieu magnifique et le personnel était attentionné et professionnel. Nous avons aussi bien apprécié le restaurant! Très chouette pour passer quelques jours en voyage de noce.
