蓋博思賓館(The Gables Guest House)

Always a really friendly welcome, our family and friends are regular visitors and look forward to our stays. The rooms are always spotless and breakfasts are plentiful. The location is perfect as many wonderful walks begin at the doorstep. We park the car at the Gables and do not use it again until we leave. There’s a great bus service at £2 per journey. The bus station is 200 meters away from the Gables and we regularly use it for trips to walk from Grasmere, Langdale, Coniston and Keswick.

As a solo traveller the Gables is perfect for me , small compact single room and reasonable price. Also with the large number of single rooms I can always find a vacancy. Location is great and with a great Thai restaurent just round the corner you dont need to walk far to get a good meal. Cooked Breakfast was slightly above average as well , nice flavour without too much oil.

Comfortable well equipped room, with great view . Staff were all friendly & welcoming. Generous full English breakfast. Very good value for money. I will definitely stay here again

Ideal location in the middle of Ambleside with easy access to the fells and excellent walks. Good nights sleep our room was clean, warm and comfortable. Lovely breakfast to set us up for a days walking. Recommend dining at Sheila's restaurant which is owned by the same people. Food was superb

We have been going to the Gables for years - so many I can't remember!! It's a great B&B, friendly hosts & staff, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfasts. Lovely location in ambleside, next to the church and overlooking the tennis courts. I can thoroughly recommend the Gables.

Excellent accommodation and rooms as always. Great breakfasts too. Brilliant location within Ambleside and the added bonus of parking. Easy access to walks, buses and other eating places for the evenings. And if you get a little damp on the fells there is a drying room for all your wet kit.

Such a wonderful spot in Ambleside! I stayed at The Gables Guest House for a week during my visit to the Lake District and Ambleside and it was a very lovely experience. I was very well taken care of and I loved my room, quiet and with a cosy feeling! I give my warmest recommendations to stay at The Gables Guest House to anyone visiting Ambleside!

It was alright. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was OK (except the sausages, which weren't very typical and not particularly nice). Car park was handy and whilst there was nothing wrong with it, we didn't feel it was very welcoming. They really need to sort out their booking process. We booked, gave all our info, then a couple of days later had to do online check-in giving all the same info again. Was told by email that this was compulsory. This is a small hotel in the Lake District, not the Holiday Inn Heathrow. Online checking seems an unnecessary hassle.

The Gables is situated in a perfect location for visiting Ambleside and the Lake District, we were greeted by the owner who carried our bags in for us and made us a pot of tea, a very nice welcome. There is limited parking on site but spaces easy to find close by. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend if visiting the lakes.
