I can highly recommend this clean and comfortable hotel within a short walk of the centre of Yaiza. It is worth paying the supplement for an upgraded room as it is very enjoyable to sit on your own balcony in the evening to relax and read a book or to have a drink. The hotel restaurant is, in my opinion, the best in Yaiza with excellent food and very attentive staff. The very appetising hotel buffet style breakfast is served in the courtyard and it provides a wide range of breads, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, cheese, teas and coffees. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

What a find! This modern, spacious and well equipped two-storey villa has 5 bedrooms and is a world of luxury. A 20-25 minute walk from the airport along a safe dual use cycle path / footpath, you don't need a taxi or a bus. We booked Magma Rooms for the first 2 nights of a 7 day visit, as was arriving late 10pm+ from the UK. A second night at Magma was good to explore nearby restaurants and visit the beach in the day. What can I say about the room? It had everything you needed from free-to-use safe, flat screen TV, power shower, hairdryer, fan, extra pillows and blankets. In the shared facilities there is a Nespresso machine and mini bar fridge (pay via honesty box) as well as wine glasses, bottle opener etc. They have thought of everything! After check-out we then walked back to the airport to catch the # 161 bus to Puerto del Carmen (1.40€ each).

My wife and I holidayed at the Natura Palace during October 24. The following is based on conditions at the time of our visit. Good Points. - Free safe, fridge, gym, activities. Dressing gowns in room. Bottled water, apples & orange drink a nice touch. Water was replenished during the week. Nuts & olives were supplied with pre-lunch drinks at pool bar. Hotel was kept very clean inside and out including pools. No deposit for pool towels. Puddings in the restaurant were of higher standard than we have found at same rated hotels in the Canary Islands. Staff were efficient and friendly. Not So Good. - We paid for a side sea view room and were given Room 1007. It looked out onto the wall of the adjacent wing and yes, the sea could be seen to the side but it was very restricted and not up to expectation (avoid rooms 1004 to 1007). Reception offered to move us the following Friday (arrived Monday) but it was not worth the upheaval once settled. Extra annoying as friends have stayed in standard rooms with better views. The other big beef is that a large number of outside loungers are very uncomfortable with the metal cross bar digging into your back so choose carefully! Restaurant food was generally good but some meats were tough, in particular the chicken and some beef. There was a lack of green vegetables and plates were cold. Soup spoons were very large. Despite hotel warnings, the problem of towels left on unoccupied loungers persists and we never noticed any being removed by the staff. Hotels have pros & cons depending on guests lifestyle and expectations. Weighing everything up, the overall 4 Star rating was about right.

Stayed in room number 7 at the apartment's, not in the hotel, black mould on ceiling and walls in bathroom, dead mosquitoes squashed on walls and room smelt musty, bed uncomfortable. Complained to owner, she said they had be very busy with bookings and had not had time to refresh/redecorate the room, half way through our weeks stay while we were out, someone came in put bleach on the worst areas and painted over the worst bits in the bathroom, did not clean the walls. We paid 100 euros a night for 7 nights, i would compare the room to what we paid 20 euros a night for ten years ago in Greece, very basic and not very clean. We ate in the owners restaurant for 2 nights as a party of 4 and spent over 320 euros on food and wine. I would have at least expected a proper apology, not even a complementary bottle of wine or a small discount on our bill to say sorry when we dined at the restaurant. I will be interested to see if the owner responds to this review, she gave me the impression she could not care less. Bryn Jones Chester
