Extremely disappointed with this hotel Saw a deal on Travelzoo for a 2 night stay at this hotel Contacted the hotel 3 times asking about availability and never got a response at all Why do these hotels offer these deals then look down on you when you try and book it Really really poor customer service and the height of rudeness

Stayed here on the 16th September for our wedding night. We didn’t get married at the ivy but as a treat and given it is a really quaint setting it seemed the ideal choice for the wedding night! That was the first mistake Upon arrival we had to wait 45 minutes to be seen by reception as there were other guest ( booking a room/rooms for may next year) in front of us, My wife was desperate to use the bathroom and we literally wanted to go and meet up with our guests who had been waiting there for us all that time. They didn’t serve food until 1830 so prior to the reception we had to leave the ivy to find elsewhere to eat When we came back after our reception ( in a different venue) we noticed that the shower didn’t work, the toilet didn’t flush properly and then the sink wouldn’t empty the water which was left there overnight The reception was clearly closed at that time of night The next morning we went for breakfast as it was included within the 170£ per night price???? We were met by a young girl who asked “ are you with the wedding party”? We were not obviously and part of our own wedding party and we were directed out of the way. When the same girl came to ask what drinks we would like my wife requested a double espresso? To be told sorry we don’t do those for breakfast?? Okay? So could I have a cappuccino please? To be met with “sorry we aren’t doing any speciality teas or coffees because we have a big wedding party coming in”? We truly felt like we were just second rate citizens and I wonder if “the wedding party” got everything other guests couldn’t? Obviously we complained and the receptionist was really helpful and managed to reduce the cost of the room I’m sorry but because of this experience I would not return to the ivy house I thought the best of it which is clearly just there to tell guests what they might want to hear or read is at the bottom of the breakfast menu it’s states that any requests will be met??? Didn’t see any small print about speciality teas or coffee???

We had lunch to celebrate a birthday, but were very disappointed. A very limited menu choice and the quality of the meals had deteriorated since our last visit in December. The waitress service was good, but I'm afraid we will be eating elsewhere in future.A

We returned for our 1st Yr wedding anniversary and was not disappointed! The service from every staff member is second to none, so friendly, professional and helpful they just can't do enough for you. Stayed in the suite and was immaculate with two bathrooms, lounge area and mini fridge. The grounds are kept beautifully and the chirping birds and visiting wildlife really helped us switch off. We have already rebooked our next stay and looking forward to it!

Just returned home after two nights at Ivy house hotel, we booked through a travel zoo deal and was so pleased we did. This hotel is lovely, ,Heather on reception is very welcoming and gave all the info we needed, then to our room, WOW, not a room but an apartment,it was amazing,we went into the bar and had a cream tea, which was delicious and very filling, we ate in the hotel both nights and wasn't disappointed, the food was lovely, and a good choice ,breakfast also was excellent. Every member of staff we came across was very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely visit again

A wonderful 5 days. Ivy House was brilliant. Welcoming, good service, comfortable accommodation, excellent food. The grounds of the hotel were well kept and wild life was busy. Nothing was to much trouble. We were well looked after and have booked for next year.

We booked a 2 night break through Travelzoo and had a fantastic time. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds surrounded by fields of cows and horses. We had an amazing room ( I think it was an upgrade) It was the honeymoon suite and was lovely. The breakfasts were very good. Lots of choice and very tasty. We ate in the hotel both nights and plenty of choices on menu. All the staff were lovely. Helen on reception was very friendly and helpful. You can walk from the hotel to Oulton Broads in one direction and the nature reserve in the other.

I have just spent a wonderful five days at The Ivy House Country Hotel. I was on holiday with 9 friends and we were all very happy with our experience there. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and they all did everything they could to ensure our stay at the hotel was enjoyable. We were very well looked after by everybody and in particular, Carenza who made sure that we had everything we needed in our conference room. The food was excellent and the rooms and ensuite bathrooms very large and comfortable. We have booked our next visit there and hope to make it a regular event.

A group of 9 ladies have just had a 4 night stay at the Ivy House Hotel and it has been an excellent experience. The most helpful and friendly staff were always available to help us and ensure we had everything to make us comfortable. The food is of a very high standard with plenty of choice. The experience was so good we have booked our next stay.
