紅獅旅館(Red Lion Inn)

A well organised and clean modern venue. The food is of a particularly high standard. We stayed in room 6 which is barely big enough to swing a cat in so despite being clean is best avoided if there for more than one night.

Planned a walk from YHA Wooler intending to have light lunch at the Red Lion and then catch the bus back to Wooler. Beer and sandwiches really good, and wonderful bar service from Sophie. Unfortunately the bus times given to us in Wooler were wrong which would have resulted in a 3 hours wait for the bus, or a very long return walk on a very hot afternoon. Asked Sophie if there was a local taxi service we could book, but none available and Chris very kindly gave us a lift back to Wooler. The pub inside is lovely with a nice small bar and a very comfortable dining area, plus outside seating area. Would highly recommend a visit.

We had 2 evening meals at the Red Lion Inn whilst staying locally. There is a comfortable bar area with a separate large room for dining. The menu is varied if unexciting, the food is good and service is excellent. And, I had several pints of the best Guinness that I have had for a very long time which is a good indication that the landlord maintains an excellent cellar.

Chris, Sophie and the team are very accommodating and friendly. Myself, husband and our Rottie have stayed a few times. Rooms & chalets are lovely, well kept and clean. Food / Breakfast amazing. A nice base to stay when visiting Northumberland.

Our first visit but will definitely not be our last. We called in for Sunday lunch and weren’t disappointed, it was the tastiest I’ve had in a long time. Not only great food, (Sunday roast taken to another level), the service was fast and friendly.

Chatted to Chris and Sophie in Berwick and got to hear they run the Red Lion. Decided to head over and check it out. Great beer and great food. Excellent hosts and a cracking pub. Lenny our Border enjoyed a fuss and a treat. We will definitely be back if we are in the area.

A delightful stay with very knowledgeable friendly hosts & staff . Enjoyed a very nice meal from the restaurant also a beautiful breakfast would definitely recommend this establishment

Massive clean bed, excellent breakfast and lovely friendly staff and owners it’s dog friendly to an extent although I had to eat in the bar on my own for breakfast maybe they could give off an area of the dining room for residents with a dog. I was aware of the restrictions before I went so not unhappy at all.
