Hotel very good location on the quay side, good selection of foods the décor of the hotel not to my taste dark grey and black room choice best if you can get room facing the quay side only problem I had was wet shaving in the bathroom cannot get close to mirror / poor lighting ( you need to use electric shaver ).

Go-to business hotel in Newcastle for me - situated on quayside directly opposite Millennium Bridge and near Tyne bridge; clean and tidy - a little tired in places but does not detract overall; rooms good size and functional; bar and grill - very friendly loyal staff some whom I first encountered 3 years ago; good choice of hot breakfasts - English and eggs Benedict particularly good; could have a bit more choice on continental buffet (more breads/rolls, cold meats and cheeses) but small criticism; a la carte menu good - steaks particularly good - overall no concerns in re-visiting in the future

Nice locations and breakfast was amazing. Not happy about the welcome. Not professional at all. Parking was in the plaza next to the hotel. It is on the top floor. Not convenient if you have a few suit cases, and it cost £10 for a 24-hour period which was never mentioned at the time of the hotel booking.

Excellent hotel! It's in a great location and the building itself is iconic; we have stayed at several Malmaison hotels and this one had the same high standards throughout. The staff were very friendly and professional, especially at check in and breakfast each day. The bar is great - the bartender made a great whisky sour! Overall, a really enjoyable stay.

Hotel looks very grubby other than the amazing bridge view not impressed with the room and the bathroom was awful, too small and no separate shower which I would have expected for a higher end room. Worst part, very noisy room next door, very loud shouting and arguing not great to be woken up to at 7am on a Sunday morning. Check-in was terrible, our receptionist was very slow and the other two receptionists checked in 5 people whilst we were left waiting, with a computer that wasn't working, then the key machine that didn't work ! W won't be rushing back to Malmaison Newcastle,
