卡特洞穴國家度假村公園(Carter Caves State Resort Park)

I give this place 5 stars for young families, new hikers and old people. Consider it a prep for the Red River Gorge. I give it 3 stars for experienced hikers. I found all the big bold arrows painted along the trails to be WAY over the top. The greatest reward of hiking is the feeling of accomplishment you get by figuring things out and overcoming your self imposed limitations. At Carter Caves, they've decided to dumb it down for everyone. The state park system has been on a starvation diet for a long time. The "Nation's Finest" just isn't.

Lovely place to stay with hiking and activities right on site. Ir would have been nice to have a microwave but otherwise very comfortable.

Stayed at the lodge with only a handful of other guests, being in the off season. Birthday adventure weekend! Our room was a king, nicely furnished and clean with small balcony behind to view sunsets. It had everything save a microwave. The lodge features a dining room and cozy great room with wood fired fireplace, staff is very friendly. While at the park we hit trails and toured a few caves though the area boasts of several of each. Natural bridges too, which are always a neat sight, especially large ones. If you enjoy Red River Gorge, you will definitely enjoy Carter 🙂.

A lovely surprise. Super cute old school park resort. Nicely reno'd rooms. Not the most comfortable beds, but I'm picky.

Nice quiet place to stay with beautiful scenery. The people here are very nice and professional.

There was water in the ice bucket, bathroom had broken tiles and exposed pipes. Sink was not put together properly so dirty around facet. Had a ground floor room while people above were very noisy.

First time stay at lodge and entry to park. Absolutely beautiful and meandering. The lodge room had a balcony with a nice view into the woods. The room itself was clean with the exception of some mold in the bathroom. Needs new mattress. Noticed a big fenced lot for dogs nearby. Plenty of trails and caves to explore. Will be back when we have more time.

This was our first time at Carter Caves State Park. It was absolutely beautiful and everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The cottage we stayed in was really nice and we would love to go back again next year.
