The good- the resort is gorgeous. Centrally located with walking distance to many restaraunts and nightlife, but also feels secluded enough and not overly loud. Tons of kids, so if you don’t like noise, don’t come but it wasn’t bad. The beach is amazing. Soft sand, calm water, prob one of my fav beaches I’ve been too. The restaurant food was good, but expensive. Shop, Gym, Ice cream shop, and seafood restaurants all were good. Gym exceeded my expectations for a hotel gym. The highlight was the service, most people were so kind and happy. From janitor to bartender to Front desk, everyone was extremely nice. The meh- I am not sure if this is an Aruba thing or a Hyatt thing, but this place will nickel and dime you. I’ve been to resorts all over the world, and I’ve never been charged for an “umbrella/palapa/mushroom” whatever you call it. There’s an online reservation system for palapa, there’s a few free ones but they aren’t great and far away from water. Pool free umbrellas have minimal shade. The cabanas are 400-700$ which is insane. It was like $200 in Bali with inclusive drinks. Breakfast buffet imho is not worth it. It’s 32$/per person plus mandatory 15% gratuity. In 7 days, 99.9% of the selection was the same. There are way better resorts out there, all inclusive or not. Not sure if Aruba or this is individual to this place. It has potential, but needs work.
This was our second visit to Aruba and this time we decided to stay at Radisson Blu. We made a good choice. The hotel itself is very nice with really lovely pool areas (including an adults only infinity pool). The staff were helpful and pleasant. Location is good with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. It’s only a 5 minute walk to Palm Beach but if you don’t fancy the walk Radisson provide a little shuttle to take you there and pick you up again. Beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful when we went. It’s an all-suite hotel, they were spacious with a kitchenette, large living area and a good sized balcony. We particularly liked that there was plenty of hanging space and storage. Our room was cleaned daily by the housekeeping team who were very good. It was low season while we were there and every day the pool areas were quiet which was lovely and relaxing. There are also two resident cats which were nice to see every day (although they didn’t want to be petted). If we had to pick up on anything it would be that the plumbing needs improvement. Our bathroom sink refused to drain properly most days which was slightly annoying. However I would certainly stay here if ever we are lucky enough to visit Aruba again.
A couple things to note before you book: -Very large scale construction. In addition to the intrusive noise during the day while you’re on the beach, it effectively closes off 1/3 of the resort and there’s only a small pool left for use. (One other pool is randomly closed for no reason and I write this review while construction is blaring in my ears) Hilton has the absolute GALL to charge you more for a room that won’t be staring at, or effected by the construction noise. The road outside of the resort is totally ripped up and inaccessible. This isn’t on Hilton, but is a hindrance when trying to walk around the shopping road right across the street. Lobby is nice enough, but the rooms are dated. For example, I am in a junior suite and one side of the bed has zero outlets in the nightstand or wall behind it. I don’t know how this could possibly be considered acceptable in this day and age. There is also no bath tub if that’s your thing. All in all, anything I could say really pales in comparison to the ongoing construction which cuts the size of the resort down immensely and limits the amenities while also being EXTREMELY disruptive to anyone wanting to relax during the day. There’s no financial consideration for this crazy imposition, so I’d absolutely look elsewhere when booking. Sorry for any grammatical mistakes. I’m writing this review with large scale construction blaring all around me.
Happy 40th Anniversary to us, and the Aruba courtyard Marriott did not disappoint. A few shoutouts to Sanne at the front desk with her making us feel special and getting us the best room for us and answering all our questions. Shoutouts to Bartender/Breakfast Janice, what a delight she was, like we were family, Danielo also was a big teddy bear with the nicest smile, always checking in on our table. Adrian, our pool guy, towels, floats and cabanas, just his energy and smile was awesome. Luis, my husband's coffee guy, always restocking any coffee needs for my husbands' 2 year sobriety vice since the tragic loss of our 32 year old son 3 years ago. We didn't think we could vacation again and be happy. Aruba and the Marriott did it for us. Very comfortable beds, huge showers and plenty of room for the two of us. The large golfcart outside the front to shuttle to the beach across the street, which is definitely walkable. At the beach they have chairs towels and water for us. Also a 10 minute walk to downtown and very safe and clean ,where shops and restaurants were. WE hope to be back.
We’ve stayed for 2 weeks at Casalina Garden in March 2023 with our three year old son and had the most amazing holiday! It was like a dream! Casalina Garden is the most beautiful oasis in an upcoming area of Aruba, close enough to Palm beach and all it’s fun but also far away enough from all the crowdiness so you can choose to relax whenever and however you’d like. Judy, Nataly and Josef are very nice and helpfull. They will make sure you have everything you need for a relaxing time. The appartment was very clean and there’s a vert peaceful, relaxing vibe around the whole place. Our son loved the pool and playground, he’s still talking about it. And even though 2 weeks holiday is a long tome, we would have stayed a lot longer if we had the chance! Don’t hasitate to book a appartment at Casalina Garden; It is truely amazing and you’ll love it!!
