Upon my arrival at the property, I was greeted by the valet team, and instantly, the meticulous attention to detail throughout the property caught my eye. As I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped by the sophisticated and luxurious NEWSTALGIA fragrance that filled every corner of this stunning establishment. The lobby is a perfect blend of romance and charm, creating an inviting and immaculate atmosphere with every detail curated. The furniture is not only solid and comfortable but also exudes chic elegance, significantly enhancing the overall aesthetic. The front desk staff are truly the cornerstone of this hotel's extraordinary service. Diana transformed a challenging day at Stanford into a positive experience with her attitude, extreme politeness, professionalism, and empathetic demeanor. She went above and beyond to assist me with parking, wrote a handwritten note to cheer me up, had a big smile and super positive vibes. Diana provided excellent suggestions to restaurants and places around the hotel making her an outstanding employee! Aylin was equally impressive, consistently displaying a positive attitude, efficiency, and attentiveness. She handled all my requests promptly and with a genuine smile. Darnell also stood out with his exceptional politeness and attentiveness, exemplifying the hotel's commitment to service even at 1 AM when I required items to be delivered to my room. Diana, Aylin, and Darnell epitomize outstanding customer service, and their efforts are deeply appreciated. Thank you all! At President’s Terrace, the ambiance is electric, cozy, warm, and incredibly chic, with breathtaking views of Palo Alto that enhance the experience. Erica's exceptional service and insightful recommendations elevated my evening to an unforgettable level. Her enthusiasm, attentive listening, and delicious suggestions showcase excellence in the food and beverage industry. Erica, thank you for the delightful food, drinks, and vibrant atmosphere you provided, which added immensely to my experience. The room exceeded my highest expectations. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by the signature scent, and the room was immaculate, showcasing an extraordinary level of cleanliness. The decor is thoughtfully designed, with high-end furniture and well-planned spaces where everything has its place. The careful selection of every element, from the wallpaper to the bathroom sconces, underscores the commitment to quality. The sheets, pillows, fabrics, and toiletries (Malin & Goetz) are of exceptional quality, contributing to a sense of luxury and comfort. The fresh, clean scent of the towels, reminiscent of a light Tom Ford Neroli Portofino fragrance, adds a final touch of elegance. The room is a true masterpiece, combining art, scent, high-quality furnishings, and unparalleled comfort. Breakfast and coffee at Lou & Herbert’s were exceptional experiences. The service was fast, the breakfast delicious, and the coffee among the best I hav
I have never written a review on Trip Advisor before but my awful experience this week at the Westin Palo Alto deemed my time and energies to save others from staying here. I have simplified my review into the specific areas of this hotel to make it easier for others and not a rambling rant. I am in Palo Alto every four weeks for work in Mountainview, and I will never stay here again (there are better marriott properties for those loyal to Bonvoy as I am). Location: good. you can walk to downtown Palo Alto (although you do have to go underneath a rail way so plan carefully if alone/at night as it's littered with homeless folks). Easy to get to Mountainview, Stanford, SFO. Property: awful. It's old, Thin walls. Elevator that had an inspection certificate from 2018 and seemingly some type of ”updated one” but I did not trust it. Room: standard marriott room. I had a 1 bedroom suite ”upgrade” for my Bonvoy status and it was fine. However, I came home with an awful rash and immediately had to go to the urgent care for how it progressed from my neck to face. The doctor immediately asked if the hotel had signs of mold and I said I would not be suprised given how old and outdated it was. I was prescribed steroids and dr said most likely allergic reaction to prolonged mold/mildew exposure and/or something on the pillow or in them (perhaps not laundered properly) given the rash was across my neck and face. Staff: those few there were all fine. Liam checked me in; he did not automatically look to upgrade me and I had to ask/remind him of my Bonboy status and then I got my upgrade. Room Service: do not order it. It comes most likely from the Sheraton next door and is all boxed up and soggy. Every time I tried to ask for water in the order (you do it through a QR code/app) could not get it. Ice machine on floor also inoperable so if I did not remember to buy my own bottled water I was out of luck Housekeeping: they literally made the bed and put in towels. Cleaned nothing else nor tidied. Left empty coffee cups, etc in the room and definitely did not vaccumm. Parking Garage: as others have said, it's terrible. awful. I actually bumped my side mirror and now have to do a claim with hertz. Just another reason to avoid this hotel. Summary: Do NOT stay here. I'm loyal to Marriott, I love a good Westin on business travel and this one is like a Holiday Inn from 1984 with a Westin sign slapped on top. I gave 2 not 1 star b/c generally the staff I encountered were pleasant and kind and not their fault this place is in desperate need of help.

A beautiful hotel set in a tranquil tropical oasis. Incredibly relaxing and all the staff are incredibly attentive. The place is immaculate and the food is superb. Having stayed in lots of the 4/5* chain hotels in Palo Alto / Menlo Park this one stands out head and shoulders about the rest.
Really nice clean hotel. Location is great - close to Stanford, shopping, restaurants etc. We had a room with a King bed. The room was insanely large and spotlessly clean. One of the best hotel ”free” breakfasts I have seen. The menu rotates daily and has good variety. They even served fried eggs one morning (not just those weird omelet things that most hotels serve). There was fresh berries and melon, whipped cream for the waffles, definitely an upgrade from most hotel breakfasts. There is a small room on the first floor with a pool table and tv where you can chill. We didn't notice until our last night there, but wouldn't have had time to use it anyways. Lots of parking. If you come back late at night the small outdoor lot is usually full, but they have a garage underneath with plenty of stalls. Garage feels pretty safe - requires key card access and is gated.
Eerice905This hotel is less expensive than most in the area, so my expectations were quite low prior to arriving. I was therefore surprised when the room was better than I anticipated. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were fine. On the negative side, the towels were disappointing because they tend to repel rather than absorb water. The shower head was strong, but the bathtub floor was quite slippery. The shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty, requiring me to go to the front desk for shampoo. The room had an “old” smell when entering at first, but that dissipated after being in the room for a bit. Breakfast was adequate, but lacking better fresh fruit selections and sugar free yogurt and cereals. Overall, the hotel provided what we needed which was a comfortable place to sleep in a convenient location, at a better price than most hotels in the area. The staff were all pleasant and accommodating. In summation, the hotel was better than expected, but not quite up to snuff. I don’t know if I would stay there again, and would rather pay more at another location for better accommodations.
DDOITYMAYStayed here after landing at SF airport. I knew by the price I paid and the photos online what I would get. Yes it’s old but very clean. Breakfast was fine. More than enough to eat. Stayed here again on the night before going home. It’s 20 mins away from the airport. Close to Stanford University and Silicon Valley sites. I enjoyed my time here. Staff were super friendly. If you want the Ritz then be willing to pay 6 times the cost of a room here. For one night it was perfect Couldn’t here traffic noise when in room.
