We stayed at the Carnegie House on a motorcycle trip to PA. I would highly recommend staying here. The staff was exceptional. The staff treated us like family and the inn is decorated beautifully. If you are ever in the area I would recommend staying at the Carnegie House. Fine dinning & pub restaurant on site.

Wonderful stay at the Carnegie House Hotel, State College PA. My family and I recently stayed here for a Penn State football game weekend. Incredible experience from the seamless check in to perfectly appointed rooms. The rooms were beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Staff were warm, friendly and inviting. Quaint bar by the lobby. This hotel is under new management and it is evident by the unparalleled quality of service. I highly recommend this hotel!

Welcome to Carnegie house, an absolute disgusting dumpster fire now that Eric & Claudia Sarnow have taken over. (Refer to the unsanitary conditions pictured) I’ve been steadily going to Carnegie house for over two years, some would say I’m a regular. I’ve befriended the staff over the course of this time and most have told me how hopeless it is to work under these unprofessional, overrated, and narcissistic “warlords”. I wanted to share some insider knowledge of what the kitchen and food storage areas now look like due to the way Eric Sarnow and Claudia Sarnow run their operations. No wonder the hummingbird room(their previous establishment) was shutdown twice, Has the health inspector made a visit here recently? The owner of this establishment needs to do what’s right and cut the head off of this foul and decrepit beast.

I've had quite a few visits to the Grace Restaurant -- all of which, were nothing but exceptional. However, to my surprise, the last meal I had was far from it. As per usual, the wait staff was excellent. I received wonderful service from Cheryl. That said, to my dismay the menu had been completely butchered. (Some of our favorites were completely gone from the menu!) I found out later that evening as to why that was... As I was enjoying my meal, a woman came from the back and began speaking with us. She introduced herself, though I can't remember her name, and she told us that her and her husband were going to transform the restaurant. I found it a bit arrogant, as there was nothing wrong with the restaurant to begin with. This aside, the real issue started when the conversation would not end!! We sat there with our plates getting cold as she prattled on about this and that. I felt that it was very inconsiderate of her to hold us up like that and to brag about herself nonetheless! All that being said, I don't believe my husband and I will be returning anytime soon.

I chose this hotel for a four-day work trip in the area, based on the highly praised restaurant and food offerings. However, my experience was disappointing for several reasons: 1. Upon arriving to check in at 9:30 PM, I was informed that both the hotel's restaurant and bar were already closed for the evening. 2. The following evening, after a long day of work, I went to the restaurant for dinner only to be told that both the bar and restaurant were closed for a private event—a golf society had rented them out for the evening. 3. Although their website advertises room service, when I requested to have food sent to my room because the restaurant was closed to hotel guests, I was denied. 4. I raised a complaint, stating that hotel guests should be informed at check-in if the facilities are privately booked and inaccessible. As I walked away, I overheard the younger receptionist and an older lady with a bald patch laughing and mocking me behind my back, which I found to be completely unprofessional.

The remodeling was wonderful- it is not within walking distance of much and did not serve breakfast- also closed the bar at 10 both Friday and Saturday- seemed a little early

Carnegie House beyond surprised me with the attention to detail in the room and the personalized service checking in. In room the bathroom was an oasis with a PSU inspired touch. Amenities in the room are fantastic, the cookies and tea were awesome touches. I wish I could stay longer - I’ve had the gift of staying at so many great properties - this one is special.

Where do I begin...This precious hotel does not miss even one comfort! The staff at the front desk are so welcoming. It is beautifully decorated, fresh, white, fluffy pillows and comforters, have beautiful bathrooms and give an over abundance of towels and wash-cloths, electric tea kettle and 2 china cups and saucers for tea, plus 2 generous mugs for the wonderful in-room coffee. It was such a delightful stay. The restaurant is 5 Stars! We found it amazing and we are looking forward to going back.

Hotel is nice but it has a bit of malfunctioning, ac/heater unit was leaking and rug was completely soaked. The hotel is probably experiencing some sort of water issues as it smells very musty around carpeted areas.
