Arrived and welcomed warmly and given keys to room, asked if needed help with bags which was a nice touch. Room cosy and clean with a seating area outside at back. Lovely outside space to have a drink. Food was delicious and plentiful. Breakfast was good and a good variety to choose from.

I had the fish pie from the specials, and it was yum! good ratio of fish and mash with a really nice crisp cheesy top. The servers were really nice and helpful, accommodating to changes to food well. I would recommend for a great casual pub dinner with friends or family!

A small group of us visited the Greyhound Inn for an evening meal. The pub is stunning, really nice inside and a lovely outdoor seating area. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was okay, it was all reasonably priced too. I would visit again.

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch, staff very welcoming. One of the best lunches we've had. My husband is very fussy he thought it was brilliant. Will be rebooking shortly for Sunday lunch again with extra family members one being gluten intolerant. Also wedding anniversary in July so will be booking for that with a stay. Can't fault it.

Stayed for a night and had dinner and breakfast. Both were excellent but the food is a small part of the experience, Kelly and staff always go the extra mile, so friendly and the whole place is a seasonal delight. We’ve 2 dogs and they are pampered by all the staff with doggie sausages on the breakfast menu. It’s a proper example of a small business that never stands still! Chris and Chris and Pups can’t wait for the next visit!

Visiting from Australia we decided to visit one of our favourite pubs in the Usk region for dinner. Glad we did because the food was as good as always - steak and ale pie and lamb shanks faultless - but we also found out about The Uskonbury Summer Musical Festival organised by the pub to be held on the Sunday following. Held in the fields adjacent to the pub it was an excellent day of music. The event was so well organised, from the free parking and short walk to the stage areas to the exit at the end of the day. From 12 to 8pm we were entertained with bands alternating between the two stages. Family friendly, and all the people dancing in the area in front of the stages were certainly enjoying themselves. One of our bugbears when attending functions where there are large crowds (over 1000 attended) is the long queues to get food and drink. The organisers had so many friendly and efficient staff that there were never ever any long waiting times for either. As well there were activities to keep children happy and a number of cultural stores to please the adults (beware adults you could overuse your credit cards). Long may the festival continue because if we are in Wales in June over the next few years we will put it on our “Must to Do List”. A tip get there early to get one of the many benches available or bring chairs/picnic blankets to enjoy the day in comfort.

What a wonderful place! We weren't meant to go here but the restaurant we had booked for our Girls Chris**as lunch had closed down. Littlest Foodie found this place and as soon as I checked out the website and saw the Alpine Specials menu and the photos we had to give it a go. We weren't disappointed. As soon as we stepped inside we could have been in a Swiss Chalet. LF & I arrived first so had a hot chocolate & Baileys by the fire whilst we waited for Eldest Foodie. The Fräulein's looking after us were so lovely and the experience was made even better with them being in traditional style Swiss dress. We were able to mix and match between the menus and the food was great. Being a large establishment made up of different smaller rooms on split levels makes it feel so intimate and cosy. So we will be visiting again very soon. Hubby & I will stay over then in one of the cosy looking rooms which are very reasonably priced. Thank you everyone & we all wish you a very Merry Chris**as

We had one of the nicest Sunday dinners ever here. I’ve travelled the length and breadth of the UK and the food and service here ranks amongst the best. We are staying here this weekend so I can relax, have a drink and not have to think about driving. Sat in front of a roaring log fire in the bar with a large Rum. What could be better. This will be a regular weekend haunt for us.
