維裏諾酒店 Il(Hotel IL Villino)

I would have given it one star but the electric and water worked. The photos seen online might have been accurate in the past, but no so much currently. Covid could only be blamed for just so much but this hotel by American standard is dilapidated. The room was clean if you did not look too hard, towels were very thin and abrasive, pillows were flatter than flat, and the minimal amount of furnishings and lightening were 20 years old. Basic amenities did not include cups or tissues. We were booked to stay for six nights but unfortunately due to an medical injury we needed to return to the US asap. The hotel manager after consulting with "the owner" insisted that the five day cancellation policy with remained in effect. So though we give them notice upon arrival, stayed two nights, we were charged for five nights. So the moral of this story is don't believe what you see and make darn sure you read the fine print. As this establishment should be avoided.

This small hotel is unpretentious in a convenient location less than ten minutes walking from Roma Trastevere station. From there, one can get to Fiumicino airport by train in less than 30 minutes or to the main train stations (Termini and Tiburtina). You can take the tram or a bus to multiple places or you can just walk twenty minutes or so to Santa Maria in Trastevere to stroll or to eat. Our favorite restaurants are right there. First, the positive: the staff is friendly and attentive. We were greeted by Marco who made us feel welcome. While there are stairs (on two sides), the ones leading to the hotel from Gianicolense are less of a challenge with luggage. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom looks remodeled. The shower is very good. The room was very clean and there are plenty of outlets for charging equipment. While other reviewers pointed out the place was quiet, we had to deal with some noise. Guests arriving late at night or leaving early in the morning woke us up. This may not be as much of the hotel’s responsibility, but the lack of kindness of the guests. Our room smelled like someone smoked in it. If this is a problem, please make sure you get a non-smoking room (before you settled), which I thought we reserved. We did not point it out right away and I regretted it. While they are functional and clean, I think the bathroom towels could be softer. I would stay here again, particularly when having an early flight out of Fiumicino or train anywhere.

Hotel pulito, personale molto gentile e disponibile. La posizione è super comoda, attraverso una scaletta comoda si arriva alla fermata del tram n. 8 che porta in Piazza Venezia, oppure alla Stazione di Trastevere. 15 minuti a piedi e si arriva nel cuore di Trastevere, la vera Roma! Se arrivate a Roma in Treno dalla Stazione Termini prendete il treno per Trastevere costa 1 euro il biglietto e in 10 minuti siete vicinissimi all’Hotel! Consigliatissimo !

Piccolo Hotel accogliente Lo staff super gentile, ci hanno subito indicato le modalità x raggiungere il centro. La camera accogliente, predisposto di condizionatori Molto comodo a 5 minuti si ha stazione di Trastevere , tram e Bus. I treni da stazione Trastevere a termini ci sono ogni 40 minuti circa. Col tram in 15 minuti si arriva a Piazza Venezia. A piedi si raggiunge il cuore dì Trastevere in circa 15 minuti. Ottima qualità prezzo. Lo consiglio vivamente

La struttura si trova nelle vicinanze della stazione ferroviaria di Roma Trastevere. Facile la raggiungibilità dei mezzi. Diverse le lacune riscontrate: la camera ha necessità di un bel restyling anche perché le crepe sui muri in bella vista non sono il massimo. La pulizia della camera in fase di check in, non mi è piaciuta (meglio il secondo giorno dopo averlo segnalato in reception). Il parcheggio dell'hotel (posto auto, non garage) è a bordo strada o, se si è più fortunati come me, all'interno del cortile interno. Piuttosto inusuale il pagamento della tassa di soggiorno in anticipo in fase di check in. Unica nota positiva la cordialità e la disponibilità dello staff.

Posizione assolutamente non ottimale per visitare la città a piedi vista la posizione alla fine del quartiere Trastevere. Per arrivarci o fai un sacco di scale non segnalate dall'hotel o allunghi la strada di parecchio. Camera numero 2, seminterrata, con due letti trasformati in letto matrimoniale e con fossa in mezzo a essi, perciò abbastanza scomoda in coppia. Bagno vecchio che si sta piano piano rompendo, porta d'ingresso della stanza che lascia passare luce e tutti i rumori dell'esterno. Abbiamo comunicato, e ricevuto risposta, del nostro arrivo di poco anticipato e la camera ancora non era pronta perché il proprietario si era scordato. Unica cosa positiva: abbiamo perso una monetina a terra e ce l'hanno lasciata sul comodino dopo le pulizie.

La zono è abbastanza tranquilla, anche se molto vicina a Viale Trastevere, per cui il riposo è assicurato. Risulta però lontana dal centro vero e proprio, ma avendo l'accortezza di prendere i frequenti treni dalla vicina stazione di Roma Trastevere o il tram 8 si può coprire velocemente la distanza. Lo staff è stato molto cortese, professionale e disponibile. La colazione era disponibile (a pagamento) e in questa stagione la si può consumare all'esterno (su tavoli però un po' angusti). Le stanze necessiterebbero di qualche ritocco, ma a mio avviso si può chiudere un occhio.
