百合花酒店(The Fleur de LIS)

Came here for a one night stay with a friend. The bar itself is a typical English pub, offering a wide range of drinks and a food menu if you’d like to eat. The service behind the bar was quick and efficient and the check in process was super easy. If you go out and come back late when the pub’s closed, there’s an option to go through another entrance to get to your room. The room itself was small, slightly dated and not the cleanest. But that wasn’t too much of an issue as we were only there for one night and for £48 for two people, including breakfast you can’t go wrong! There’s live music on Friday and a Saturday between 9 - 11:30, so if you have to get up early for whatever reason, make sure you bring ear plugs or choose somewhere else. The breakfast was slightly slow considering it wasn’t particularly busy but everything was piping hot, good quality and decent sized portions. Overall, a comfortable room, on the Main Street of Sandwich with a pub on your ‘door step’.

Buon B&B, sovrastante un pub. Camera tipica da pub, con finestra scorrevole e moquette ovunque. Ottima colazione. Mi ci sarei fermato di piu' , se mi avessero detto subito che c'era un parcheggio gratuito per le motoa 150 metri di distanza, all'interno del parcheggio auto (a pagamento per loro) nella piazza retrostante al municipio. Il paese è bellissimo e merita una visita.

The pub was quite nice. And staff were friendly, but it was the experience which has attracted a one star review. The pub was very busy. I was asked to tap my card. The round should've been £9 or so. However, I didn't realise until afterwards I was charged £38 for two drinks. This was my mistake as I should've checked. But the bargirl was leaning over with the machine and it was three deep at the bar. What disappointed me the most was the following day. I realised what had happened and contacted the pub. I accept I should've checked, but the pub simply failed to respond to me. Customer service like this shouldn't be rewarded and leaves a sour taste.

Checked in and fair to say room was ok and a very large bed However en-suite shower room was not so good Virtually impossible to perch yourself on the loo as its too close to the shower talking of which the enclosure itself really needs a clean up dud to excessive mould Had a shower which only ran warm and flowed poorly. After complaining to tbe bar staff who were clearly busy the manager attempted to change our room but were fully booked so to be fair he refunded the room rate which can't be argued with. Great position right in town no parking but £8 for 24 hours locally Breakfast included and you could have anything on the menu with good fruit juice selection. For our tastes it was all a bit deep fried but perfectly acceptable If it was a better bathroom and the shower worked would have got 4 stars

Possibly the most miserable owner ever! Beautiful building but spoilt by having rooms with complete lack of character - Was not made to feel welcome - Won't be returning and do not recommend this unfriendly place to anyone

Large room, comfy bed. The room seemed worn, and the shower did not work properly, the was almost no pressure and there was no way to regulate the temperature. We had to shower i cold water, and there was so little water pressure that we had difficulty rinsing off the soap. We were in sandwich for a wedding so not beeing able to shower properly was unfortunate. We talked with the staff about this the first day and they said they would look at is, but they never did. The location was great.

Double Bed was to big for the room. Had trouble getting in it as gap each side was less that a foot wide. Lots of black mould in the shower, never a good look. Room very dated with odd decor and colour scheme. Mattress was sloped to the point you virtually roll out the bed. Very overpriced room and didn't get what the website was offering room wise.

No dogs after 9. Toilet ceiling height is dangerous. Landlord absent. Staff nice but under orders so will never go in there again. Use new inn, market inn, red cow but avoid this dump. I live in sandwich and have many friends here, I will endeavour to make people aware that this pub needs avoiding.

Booked Christmas Day lunch on the premise that gluten free options were made available from the set menu. Several emails were sent to proprietor reaffirming this. On the day we arrived again we reaffirmed gluten free. Eat starter, then main course arrived only to find half through it that it wasn't gluten free, meal taken away. Dessert arrived and again asked if it was gluten and answer was yes. Halfway through once again waiter came over and said it wasn't gluten free. I was unwell with severe stomach cramps and upset stomach, most unpleasant and detrimental to my overall health. Needless to say it ruined the main event and to top it off my complaint went unheard and no follow up from management. Unprofessional to say the least.
