This is a conveniently located hotel for a stay in Aruba's if you aren't looking for an all-inclusive experience. In our opinion and in the way that we wanted to experience Aruba, an all-inclusive experience isn't necessary (you'd miss the ocean views for the most part though as all-inclusive hotels dominate the waterfront). However, some caveats: the hotel is undergoing (slow) remodeling so stay away from the old rooms; their setting, furniture arrangements and overall look is from 40 years ago (and their wear and tear matches that time gone by). They also smelled moldy, even the linens. We reserved a room with a King bed and got an old room 2 twin-bed layout. We requested a room change and on the 3rd day we got moved to a new room with a King size bed. It became a different experience altogether although the new rooms have some design issues, especially in the bathroom where the shower screen layout can't hold all of the water and spills into the bathroom floor. WiFi connection in all rooms is poor. With the remodeling going on the breakfast areas is closed so we got vouchers for a restaurant around the corner which we enjoyed. The vouchers only got us a reduced version of the restaurant's breakfast offerings but it was enough to keep us going until 3-4pm each day. The hotel staff was attentive and helpful even in these situations described, especially Paula and Rachelle. Overall, if you know what to expect you'll be fine.
