We had previously stayed here for five days back in 2022 and always said we'd come back. To celebrate my husband's special birthday, I booked a week as a surprise. Sadly, the surprise was broken when a member of staff phoned my husband's mobile a month before our stay. They knew it was a surprise and the file, apparently, had been marked with all correspondence via email to me! We arrived to the same Victoria Suite we had last time. I had asked and paid for balloons and a bottle of champagne on arrival and they were there waiting for us. Sadly again, there was no acknowledgement from the hotel about my husband's birthday which I found very disappointing. The suite was beautiful and a godsend as the weather was very mixed and we had a great place to relax. Food is very good but after six nights of sliced meats in different sauces served with a selection of vegetables or salad, we were craving something different and went à la Carte on our last night. This added another £68 to the bill on top of our DBB tariff, which I think was excessive. The staff were wonderful. It's a good old fashioned hotel. They stated jacket and tie preferred for dinner but people were in there in short sleeved shirts! Overall we had a good holiday but felt let down by a ruined surprise and no acknowledgment of my husband's special birthday.

The staff here made me feel so relaxed I practically glided out of the building when I left! Superb location of course, lovely food too. Just a wonderful, slightly decadent but still relaxing place stay. If you're planning an event - you couldn't be in safer hands!

What a wonderful hotel. We held our Alumni club’s annual lunch here and the team could not have been more helpful. The food was exceptional and the service is second to none. Staying at the hotel was a joy too, the room was lovely and overall the experience was one that will create lasting memories. Thank you to all the team for making it so special, particularly, Dawn, Tony, Duncan and George.

Excellent service, quality and attention to customers' needs in an attractive location with good access

An excellent Hotel offering consistently good service, amenities and menu's. We have visited The Victoria over several years and have never been disappointed. Recent improvements continue with the installation of a second lift and an upgrade of the Spa and indoor Pool.

We stayed at the Victoria for a three night Easter break. We were very impressed with every aspect of this hotel. The food was consistently of a high standard. The vegetarian choice was good. Special mention should be made of the staff. They were all very attentive, friendly and professional. They are a credit to the hotel and to the Brend company.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions in the past. It has always been excellent, and this time it again lived up to our expectations. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. All staff were also helpful and friendly.

The Hotel is in a beautiful setting above the promenade. The gardens always look well attended and the welcome by the staff is efficient and friendly. Having stayed in various rooms over many years I am never disappointed by the standard of cleanliness, comfortable bed, linen and towels. Everything is provided for comfort. The choice at dinner is excellent, food tasty and well presented. Breakfasts have lots of choice from the buffet to the cooked. Allergies are well catered for. As with all Hotels/restaurants a wide range of drinks are offered at varying prices. Rooms on the second or third floor looking towards the hill or the town are very pleasant. Once again a memorable stay.

This was our third visit to the Victoria hotel, it’s in a great location and facilities are great. However what makes this place so special for us is the staff. Every member of the team at the Victoria in whatever role clearly wants to engage and to make your stay as good as it can be. This consistency of approach is hugely impressive in any organisation and it makes such a difference to the experience we will certainly be back
