I cannot say enough good things about The Old Stocks Inn. We were lucky in that they were able to accommodate a last-minute room reservation due to another hotel in the area (The Porch House) closing due to the Horse Fair in the area. The Inn is just off of the main market square right in the middle of town. Parking is provided and very easy to find (either in the square or just off to the side). We were greeted very warmly and checked in with ease. The room we had was extremely well appointed. The room had exposed beams and a plaster ceiling with a view over the semi-enclosed courtyard. Multiple plugs were available to handle the various pieces of technology that we travel with, and there was ample room to hang clothes and store luggage. The king bed felt wonderful, and the bathroom, including the large claw tub, was huge. The towels provided were very soft, and there was plenty of hot water. We appreciated the small refrigerator in the room as well as the small writing desk. Tea and coffee were provided in the room. Tip-of-the-hat to Bogdan and Richard being extremely accommodating and assisting us during a very trying portion of our vacation. We will be coming back!

Had a lovely stay here. This is a small hotel with bags of character, a lovely old building that has been lovingly refurbished. The staff are all very welcoming and the hotel appears to be very well run. Both the breakfast and dinner were excellent, good quality and freshly prepared. You can hear other people in the hotel but nothing you can do about that in an old building. There is a small car park; the driveway into it is in desperate need of resurfacing.

We started our Chris**as in England at old stocks inn and what a great introduction to England and the Cotswolds. Everyone and everything was perfect - drinks at the bar, breakfast, and accommodations were top notch! We had a group of 9 (our six children and our future son in law) and I never felt like we overwhelmed the staff even though we are loud and extra. Justine was wonderful at breakfast and gave us great travel advice!

I sent the below review to the Hotel on8th November, to give them a chance to respond before posting. However they didn't not reply or acknowledge my email! Review regarding our stay at The Old Stocks Inn on 6th-7th November, staying in Room 4, which as you know is an “Amazing great room” and the top end in cost. This was a 1 night stay for my wife an I, away from our children, to celebrate my birthday. Firstly the positive. • Very friendly staff the evening we checked in. • Nice looking room. • Good cocktails and very good food in the restaurant. Unfortunately, there are a few negatives (one in particular) that had a huge impact on our stay: • Room was freezing in the middle of the night, when the heating was turned off (we had had to turn on our radiator when we arrived). • All enamel worn off the bath, so it is very uncomfortable. • The pillows on the bed were up there with the worst pillows I have come across, like sleeping on rocks! • Towel rail in the bathroom was broken, so our towels were wet in the morning. • The biggest problem by far was the noise. There is obviously no insulation AT ALL in the ceiling/floor of the room above, and unbelievably creaky floorboards. The people staying in the room above got back from an evening out just before midnight (fine)…they then chatted and walked around the room, whilst also watching TV, until about 1.30am. Then one went to bed and the other stayed up, walking around the room until after 3am. At 5.30am one of them got up to go to the toilet. I know all this because every movement woke my wife and I up or kept us awake. I know the timings as heard the bells on the church at 12,1,2,4,5 and 6 (because I was awake)!. Then at 6ish, the boiler/hot water tank above our room started. As such, my wife and I both had, in effect, no sleep at all, from our one night away without children. • To cap it off, when I explained this to the receptionist on checking out, her reply was “well, next time you come and stay, I suggest you ask not to be put in room 4!!!” I also said the noise had kept us awake as the couple above had (without making any excessive noise, but just been up and walking around) until 4am, she replied “that’s the problem sometimes with noisy guests”! When we arrived at the hotel we thought what a beautiful boutique Cotswold hotel, and so were so disappointed that it nearly was, but proved to be a very uncomfortable and sleepless stay.

We enjoyed the most delightful stay at the Old Stocks Inn! We stayed in Room 17, which was utterly perfect. The two window seats overlook the town square and a cozy couch at the foot of the bed provided plenty of seating for reading and relaxing. The huge tub was perfect for a bit of pampering after exploring the town and the Monarch's Way. Every element of the room was flawless. Because we booked directly through the Old Stocks website, breakfast was included in our room rate and was superb! We also had a marvelous dinner on the first night of our stay. If you're considering dining in the evening, be sure to reserve a table in advance. And do enjoy a cocktail in the lounge before dinner. Every member of the Old Stocks Troupe really went out of their way to make our stay special. It really felt like a "home from home" in the Cotswolds. Thanks especially to Rich who answered questions and helped us with transport options.

We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms (Room 5), at the top of the building. The room was large enough for a super king bed, a sofa and plenty more space. The plusses are a Nespresso machine, excellent rainfall shower, comfortable bed, and surprising quiet considering the room looks onto the car park. Additionally a free welcome drink, great restaurant and super friendly staff made it a memorable stay. I can’t think of anything negative. Definitely recommend.

Excellent stay in a fantastically renovated room under the eves at the top of this historic building. Great welcome, nicely thought out layout and very stylish. Great amenities in the bathroom, and nice powerful shower. The bed could be more comfortable, two twins joined together to form a double which leaves a gap between two mattresses and we were disappointed that when we asked for softer pillows the only solution we were offered to remove the cover on the existing ones - strange since a pillow menu is offered when checking in. This meant our sleep was not as good as it could have been. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding and definitely recommended.

Whilst staying in Stow we booked dinner here on a Saturday night. Having read the reviews beforehand, it exceeded expectations We had a lovely evening. The service was excellent and the food was beautiful. They had our favourite Gavi di Gavi wine served perfectly chilled and the bread was really good. Would highly recommend
