德文波特酒店(Hotel on Devonport)

For almost $300 a night I was expecting a bit more. The view was horrible from our room, looking at the back of shops. I could hear people upstairs in their room even when the shower was going we could hear it. Could hear children running around. However the bed and shower were amazing, the carpark area was very handy. I'd maybe stay again for the bed and shower alone lol

We organised a book with a view and something that we did t know was that if you get a view you will also get a noise from the train tracks late and night and early in the morning. Thank he view was lovely but the room was extremely cold and we didn’t get any spare duvet provided in the closet. Requested change of rooms (despite of wasting the extra cost for the view) as we just wanted a decent sleep. The staff kindly moved us to a different room away from the rail line but we got waken up at 5:00 AM with builder noises as there is a big construction project taken place next to the hotel. Extremely noisy and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The place is very nice, modern and well appointed, but on arrival the corridors and room was freezing, took about an hour to warm the room up, with my wife going under the duvet! After a long day on the road, that was a bit disappointing - we had a lively room with a great view, but didn’t notice the railway track until 3am when a large train rumbled past, with 2 others before dawn.. no indication on the website, or in the room, and no complimentary earplugs… not a great experience. Maybe if your room is facing the CBD you will be fine, but don’t get a room with a view over the water, unless you like trains!!!

Used to be FAB now a bit of fade and fatigue creeping in. Stain on carpet, beds a bit lumpy and sloping to the side. Complimentary beer or wine on arrival has gone. Watch out H O T you are slipping.

As a solo woman traveler, I felt safe and nurtured. The room was clean, modern, and quiet. The neighborhood was perfect for walking, finding good meals, and connecting with buses, taxis, etc.

The only thing that would have been nice is if the heating had been turned on prior, given that we were pre booked. The Room and the bed were cold. It will still be my choice of hotel when returning to Tauranga though.

Pretty basic although in an excellent location. Unexpectedly (and had not been made aware prior to arrival) the restaurant was closed so no in-house breakfast or meals.

The room was spacious, clean and even had a spa bath I loved staying in the city centre and being able to walk around the cbd
