梅德普拉亞劍魚酒店(Medplaya Hotel Pez Espada)

Per Espada is a nice hotel set on the front promenade. It has a slightly retro feel although all the fittings seem new. Ok sized room. Large breakfast buffet area which was very busy even off season. The pool was closed and the shower water pressure was very feeble. I mentioned it to the front desk but they ignored it. Seems to attract an older clientele.

This is a lovely hotel, right on the beach. The food was amazing, always something for all tastes…the hotel’s theme was amazing (Sinatra) etc was different….made it unique. There was entertainment every night which for low season was a really good touch. Drinks prices were reasonable…..overall, we loved it and simply cannot find fault.

Stayed for a weekend in January and was lucky to have stayed in a beachfront suite with balcony jacuzzi bath. The room was spotless, with an extremely comfortable bed, and had a large sofa and chair. The bathroom was well equipped with products and had a large walk in shower with a rainwater head and a standard head. I stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast buffet was extremely well stocked with a great selection of food. The hotel has a very pleasant ambiance, and the staff in all areas were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again

Outdated and in need of a revamp. Location second to none, spotless. Other than this I have no other positive comments. Reception staff show no customer service. The hotel living on the history of past stars who stayed in the 50's &60's. 80% of the guest don't even know who some or all of these people are. The hotel needs to embrace the 21st century. Entertainment very dated and of poor quality. Very disappointing stay, no reason to return.

This was our first holiday to Mediterranean Spain / April 18 - 25 April. My wife had requested a high up room and when we got to the hotel we were given room 510 which was on the 5th floor looking out on the promenade and beach, the room was really nice , bed was really comfortable and the shower room was ok . Overall the hotel I could not fault , breakfast and evening meals were good, cooked or continental breakfast , most evenings there was meat and fish with salads and chips etc ,lots of fresh fruit and cakes etc ,good red and white wines . We never had a problem with queuing to get into the restaurant and there was always enough food and it was hot. never used the pool and never went to the entertainment, we used the bar a couple of times and the prices were good . Overall the Pez Espada is a very nice hotel ,well maintained and all the staff were polite and very helpful , this hotel was central all our walks along a very good flat promenade, lots of local bars and restaurants, shops , and wonderful tapas restaurants. We were that impressed with the hotel so we are going to book again in May 2025.

Hace dos semanas celebramos un evento en el Pez Espada y aún estamos con el recuerdo de lo bien que lo pasamos. El servicio genial, la comida riquísima, especial mención a Laura Herrero y Laura Marín. Gracias a ellas todo fue perfecto,¡muchísimas gracias! Repetiremos seguro.

Hotel is in great location, beautiful decor, spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and hardworking. We stayed B&B as soooo many places to eat so very close only 10 mins walk to Benalmadena marina which is stunning!! My only gripes are A) Sunbeds around the pool are REALLY uncomfortable (we ended up on beach last two days with thick comfy mattresses and the most friendliest of guys looking after them right infront of the hotel. B) why on earth is there Sinatras bar? 24/7 sinatra songs that can be heard around the grounds and on balconies? Only bar with TV in for sports matches and reception refused to turn off music so people could listen. We were in room 1303 which was large and with exceptional sea and pool views I would recommend but would not return x

Pros and cons. Pros. Very clean, great location, good food choice, comfy beds and pillows Cons. Reception staff disinterested. No signs or information about where everything is located. Poor Wi-Fi. I am in a wheelchair and we were on the first floor. Trying to get a lift was dreadful. It would go up to the top floor and then come back down by which point they were always full. Why they don’t come up to the first floor when you press is beyond me. Very tiny lift down to the dining room. If you don’t have a drink with your dinner they snatch the glasses off the table and ignore you. although there is not a large choice for dinner there is something for everyone. My only complaint is the plates are cold. No smoking areas and no bins anywhere. I don’t think I would go back.
