It offered a tranquil and peaceful respite to the soul weary from the voyage. The traces of time engraved on the cathedral's walls and pillars had the power to make me pause and reflect. I climbed to the cathedral's bell tower to experience all that Cadiz had to offer. Under the clear sky, each time the massive bells chimed up close, it seemed to signal a moment when the city's long history intersected with my present. The landscape unfolded before my eyes: white buildings rippling against the blue sea. A far cry from the grandeur of the sea, it offered a simple yet warm and friendly beauty of everyday life. Wandering the beach and the central commercial district, I saw Christmas decorations already set up everywhere, inviting the warmth of the end-of-year season. As I wrapped up the day's journey and reboarded the cruise, another sunset began. Capturing sunrise and sunset had become a daily ritual, a daily commitment on this trip. Today's sunset cast long golden shadows not on the sea, but on the dome and ancient rooftops of Cadiz Cathedral. The passionate sea It was not the light of a city, but the calm and tranquil light of a city. I cherish the blessings of this ecstatic day and leave the old port city of Cadiz behind.
