Recommended to visit between 4-6 PM when the light is the most beautiful. Remember to wear hiking shoes, as the paths are all sandy and rocky. 📍 Tianshan Sacred Tree Park The thousand-year-old poplar forest is right here! The most spectacular time is at the end of October when the leaves turn completely yellow. The park also features many amazing tree shapes. 📍 Kuqa Grand Canyon Tickets are 41 RMB per person, with stunning red rock cliffs perfect for photos. It’s recommended to bring your own snacks as there are almost no supply points inside. 📍 Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves Even older than the Mogao Caves! The murals are very well preserved. Remember to book a guide in advance (daily visitor limits apply). 🍢Food guide: You must try the roasted baozi at Yakexi Restaurant! Crispy skin and tender meat. The red willow barbecue at the night market is also a must, especially paired with kvass for a refreshing taste. ⚠️Useful tips: 1. Sunscreen essentials! Sunglasses + hat + sunscreen 2. The distances between scenic spots are far, so it’s recommended to hire a car (the local driver we found was super nice) 3. Big temperature difference! Short sleeves during the day, but wear a jacket at night
