Shípín

Shípíng (石屏) is an ancient town in the Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southeastern Yunnan, about 240 km (150 miles) from Kunming, the provincial capital. The stone-paved streets are really pretty, and the local tofu with all kinds of mushrooms is delicious (though some of the wild mushrooms can be poisonous, so you have to be careful!). I stayed in a guesthouse that was built in a 300-year-old traditional house—it was such a cozy place to relax. The courtyard there was especially nice, perfect for sitting down with a cup of tea.
