赫爾辛基中央車站歷史悠久，1862年就已經有簡陋車站了，現在的建築是 1919 年建造的。據說，當時修建工人里有不少華工。如今，這裡是赫爾辛基交通樞紐，也是標誌性建築，日旅客量約 20萬人。2013年被BBC評為世界最美的火車站之一。

晚上來到赫爾辛基中央火車站準備乘坐開往羅凡涅米的過夜火車，往北極圈出發，火車站的建築很有特色，正中心是一個大大的半圓形拱頂設計，古老的磚牆令車站更具年代感，歐洲的火車站都是開放式的，無需檢票和安檢均可進出站台，在火車上會有列車員檢票。站台的显示屏上會显示乘坐的班次信息，找到相應列車的月台即可。
