Xijin Lake Scenic Spot is located in the southwest of Hengxian County. It is named for Xijin Hydropower Station. It is 5 kilometers away from the county town. It is the largest inland lake in the south of China. It is more than 100 kilometers long in East and west, 1400 meters wide in North and south, and 240 square kilometers wide in water area. The mountains of Xijin Lake are like dragons and snakes, green as Jinping; the waters of Xijin Lake are broad, deep, green and beautiful, and the scenery of the lake and mountains is integrated, with a thousand meteorologies. In 1964, the first low-head hydropower station in China was Xijin hydropower station. Xijin Power Plant has a total installed capacity of 234,000 kilowatts, with an average annual power generation capacity of 1 billion kilowatts.
