Chongqing Geleshan Martyrs Cemetery is located in Shapingba District, Chongqing. It is located in the former site of the Kuomintang "Military and General" Special Agent Chongqing Concentration Camp (1939 ～ 1949) and the "China-US Special Technical Cooperation Institute" (1943 ～ 1946), and the site of the "One One·27" political massacre in 1949. In 1954, the Martyrs' Cemetery and the Martyrs' Memorial Tower were built. In 1956, it was designated as a provincial cultural relics protection unit. In 1963, the display hall was built and opened to the public. It was named the Meijiang Crime Exhibition Hall of the Chongqing concentration camp of the Sino-US Cooperation Institute. In 1984, it was renamed. During the period of the War of Resistance Against Japan, this was the location of the special affairs agency "China-US Special Technical Cooperation Institute" and the Kuomintang Army concentration camp. In 1939, the Kuomintang Army and Unity Bureau used heavy gold to buy the former Sichuan warlord Bai Xuan's suburban villa in Geleshan Bai Mansion, occupy the Zhaqidong coal kiln, and convert it to a prison, and also set up many secret cells here to form a large-scale secret concentration camp. Here have imprisoned patriotic general Yang Hucheng, the New Fourth Army army Chang Ye Ting, the famous Communists Luo Shiwen, Che Yaoxian, Chen Ran, Jiang Zhuyu, etc. On November 27, 1949, on the eve of the liberation of Chongqing, the Kuomintang Army and Unity Bureau created a horrific massacre here, and more than 300 revolutionaries hated guns and died.
