Manting Park was a wonderful experience. I would suggest that you spend a few hours walking around in the park and possibly bring something to lay on by the lake in the park to enhance your visit. I would recommend that you visit all of the locations within the park, as the temples are beautiful. There is also a bonfire show that takes places at the entrance of the park. Dinner is provided, which was the local food from the Dai ethnic minorities. The majority of the show takes place as you are eating your dinner, so remember to pay attention. It is a show of dancing, singing and acting performances. I bought the second class ticket to the show from the ticket booth right outside the entrance on the right.
great park very beautiful not crazy numbers of people. very enjoying three hours walking around. We were able to sit on the grass and relax. wish we had of taken a picnic with us. Only down side is where three fully grown elephants are in the sun taken children for one minute rides. one baby elephant is also just walking around. Wish they could be taken to the wild elephant reserve!
it is worth to visit this park. it's big. You can spend 2-4 h. The nature is beautiful.
A little paradise in the heart of a little city. ^_^I always pass by Manting Park, but it was just until recently that I went inside to give our visiting friend a simple tour before she goes to the airport. It was worth it! So many things to see inside the park, especially the fusion of Chinese, Thai, and Laos culture. I highly recommend to pass by Manting Park when you go to Jinghong.
