This Pure Land Temple is a replica of an authentic Japanese Buddhist temple. The temple has a tall pagoda and a huge bronze Buddha statue, which is also one of the largest Buddha statues outside Asia. It is 3.7 meters high and weighs about 3.5 tons. It was laid here in 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Japanese immigrants in Hawaii. The monastery is free.
