The Museum was the public library building of my youth. When in the early 80's the new county library was built, the people of Modesto and Stanislaus County had the vision to save the building and transition it into a museum. This is a great look into the past from the indigenous native American tribes, wheat fields, fruit and nut growing made possible with the formation of an extensive irrigation district to canning industry and Gallo Winery. 2 Railroads service the area transporting goods to the world.Great displays of significant events and our progress.
