The Austrian Theatre Museum, originally owned by Prince Lobkowitz, is the first important Baroque building in Vienna built in 1683 after the second Turkish invasion. It is one of the oldest existing palace buildings in Vienna. The Museum was founded in 1991 and was formed by the Austrian National Library of Drama and related cultural relics. This special collection began in 1922, and its origin can be traced back to the Baroque era of the Palace Theatre Collection, is one of the largest theatre museums in Central Europe.
