Fayu Temple is located in Fayu Road in the middle of Putuo Mountain Scenic Area. It is also called "Housi" and its scale is second only to "Qiansi" Puji Temple. It is one of the three major temples in Putuo. Fayu Temple was founded in the eighth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1580). In the thirty-eighth year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1699), the hall was constructed and a plaque "smallpox method rain" was given, hence the present name. Fayu Temple covers an area of 33408 square meters. There are 294 existing temples, totaling 8800 square meters. The whole temple is divided into six layers on the platform, and the introduction is upgraded in turn. On the central axis, there is the Heavenly King Hall before, the Jade Buddha Hall behind, and the Bell and Drum Tower between the two halls. The Guanyin Temple in the temple is also known as the Kowloon Hall. The carvings in Kowloon are exquisite and vivid. The buildings in the hall "Jiulong Pangong" were moved here by the Nine Old Halls of the Ming Palace Museum of Jinling (now Nanjing) in Kangxi. They are very precious. The Jiulong Zaojing in the hall is the same as the multi-pagoda of the Yuan Dynasty. The Yangzhi Guanyin Monument carved in the Ming and Wanli Dynasties is the "Three Treasures of Zhenshan" of the Guanyin Daochang in Putuo Mountain.
