Hu Xueyan (1823-1885), a shrinkage of Lion Forest, is a famous Guangyuan, Zixueyan, Jixi native of Huizhou, a well-known Red-top businessman in modern China and an entrepreneur of the late Qing Dynasty who is rich but enemy country. In the eleventh year of Tongzhi reign of Qing Dynasty, Hu Xueyan, at its peak, spent a huge sum of money. It lasted three years and occupied 7,200 square meters with a building area of 5,815 square meters. Hu Xueyan's former residence, which combines Chinese and Western culture, is beautiful and skillful. It is the first luxury house of the giant businessmen in the late Qing Dynasty, whether in architecture or furniture, furnishings and materials. It is said that Hu Xueyan was well versed in the meaning of "hiding but not revealing". Traditional residence symmetrical layout, the central axis area for the living room hall, by sedan car hall, the main hall (that is, Baishi Tower), four halls; the right side is the living courtyard, by Rongdong Courtyard, Summer Palace, Mandarin Hall, Qingya Hall, and Paradise hall, Happy Hall for wives and concubines to live; the left side is the Chi Garden, corridor connected, Quchi connected.
