Locals go early for beach walks. If you want to spend the day, I recommend a ride-share as parking is impossible. Restrooms are excellent. There are several shops in the Shores one a snack bar up the stairs at SIO for food but nothing is available for take-out near the beach so bring you own water and snacks. This is an excellent beach for learning to surf or body-board.
