The Old State Capitol is the oldest public building in Boston in the Georgian style, witnessing the most important moment in history. On July 18, 1776, on the eastern balcony of the Old State Capitol, the Declaration of Independence was first read to the jubilant crowd. After the American Revolution, the building was used as the Massachusetts government until 1798 when it moved into today's Massachusetts Capitol. It is reported that the Declaration of Independence was delivered to Boston two weeks later and read to the people gathered in the square on the balcony of the building. A very memorable place.

The Boston State Capitol is a golden dome of classical architecture, one of Boston's famous landmarks, overlooking Boston Park. The interior of the building is magnificent. It was built in 1798, and in 1997, the dome was coated with 23K gold, which cost $300,000.
