In the busy commercial district of Qingdao, there is a "Y" short circuit between Zhongshan Road and Hebei Road, which is called Jiangning Road. This is the famous snack street "Chopping Wood Courtyard" in the island city. In the early 20th century, shortly after Qingdao opened its port, people processed and sold firewood in this area near the business district, and then there was a "firewood splitting yard". Later, with the popularization of electricity and coal, the firewood chopping business gradually stopped, but the business of catering became prosperous, and gradually developed into a famous snack street in the island city. Like the old Dongan market in Beijing, the firewood-splitting courtyard is a complete market. In the 1940s, "Qingdao Evening News" had a column of "firewood-splitting courtyard" which reported the news here every day. Old Qingdao people hardly ever went to the firewood chopping yard, and those who came to Qingdao from other places often went to the firewood chopping yard.
