莫高窟歷史

We had an amazing day at the ancient city. it’s located like 30 mins by taxi away from downtown. The small village is a fantastic spot for photography. You can rent a Chinese outfit and pay for profesional camera photo for only 200RMB. You can either walk around the village or ride a 6 sits bike. outside the village you can rent a horse or a motor car ski and enjoy the desert in a different way.

I didn't know it was such a long tour, but... I arrived at the geological park just as I was getting tired from the hot weather. The total admission fee was too expensive for this tour! I didn't have enough energy to enjoy it because it was so exhausting. However, if you want to see Yanggwan, Okmungwan, and Geojigongwol, I highly recommend it👍👍

Let me write why I was unhappy! I started planning the Hexi Corridor trip on March 20, and planned to stay in Dunhuang for four nights. Between Dunhuang Villa, Sheraton and Tianhe, I chose the deluxe business standard room of Tianhe Hotel and booked two nights + two nights of Sheraton. Later, due to the change of itinerary, I changed it to Tianhe Deluxe Business King Bed for three nights on May 3. The standard room was only 732/night, and the king bed room I booked was 1100/night. I read the reviews before. Some people said there was a bathtub, and some people said there was no coffee machine. When I checked in, I carried two 24-inch large boxes and two backpacks into the lobby. Facilities: The room is large, with a refrigerator, bathtub, comfortable bed and pillows, Xiaodu, and many connected devices. You can switch lights and curtains by voice.
Hygiene: Very clean. I stayed for two nights. The room was cleaned very well on the second day. Because I got up early to go to Crescent Lake, the room was not cleaned. Towels and toiletries were placed on the table. When I came back, the room was cleaned very neatly.
Environment: Very, very good. You can see the bus to Mogao Grottoes, the railway station and the airport when you walk out of the hotel lobby! There is a bus at around 6 o'clock in the morning. It is just across the street from Shazhou Market, and Dunhuang Night Market and large shopping malls are about a 5/10 minute walk away. Walk 5 minutes to the bus stop and take bus No. 3 to Crescent Lake. The room is very quiet and the corridors are very clean.
Service: We arrived at the hotel at 4:30 pm. The front desk clerk gave us the room card and didn't tell us about the upgrade. We were shocked when we got to the room. After checking in, we couldn't project the screen, so we called the waiter, who patiently adjusted the network to solve the problem.
Breakfast is a meal, you can ask them to serve more after you finish eating. Noodles, flower rolls and meat buns are all delicious😋
Yogurt and fruit were delivered every day. There is a pick-up service, and I enjoyed the drop-off at the station. It turned out to be an Audi A6... The driver drove smoothly. The room was very big and comfortable with great shower, A/C and huge TV (but very complicated w subscription cable channels - I couldn’t find a way to get regular TV!).

Translation app will do just fine. 100rmb deposit at check-in and they will give you back at check-out if everything is fine. Room is small, quite old and basic. Smoking is allowed inside hotel floors so it felt really suffocationg. The faucet in the bathroom did not give hot water, only the shower did. Location is very ideal, along a pleasant Main Street, around 5 to 8 mins walk to night market, yet away from the rowdiness of tourists. Just opposite there are convenience shops, a western bakery (Angelia) and stretch of small restaurants in an alley which are of good quality.
Front desk services are fantastic especially helpful for foreigners ( though they don’t speak English- try to use e-translator), regarding local attractions and getting a cab for you if encounter difficulties. They are genuinely helpful to try to overcome your difficulties. Special mention on Ya Jin who even asked her regular taxi driver to accompany us to buy the Mogao Grottoes tickets and arranged for a long distance taxi trip to Liuyuan South Railway station. Wang Na also offered her WeChat contact number if we have difficulties coming back at night. Really warm hospitality.
