I stayed at this terrible hotel for 10 days as I didn’t have any choice because it was close to my friend’s house and Booking. Com messed up with my previous accommodation. As soon as I enters the building a drunk guy was at the reception. The receptionist took me to my room and I could smell cigarette and ****. I entered the room and it smelled of mold and damp, the curtains were hanging by a couple of hooks , the carpet was dirty and ripped , the bed was ripped and broken , the shower is so small and tiny that you can hardly turn around and close the door. If I wasn’t all by myself I would have moved to a different hotel . I complained the booking . Com and they got back to me saying that I didn’t complain to the management there at that time . Well how could I ? I didn't want to be relocated. People were literally smoking in there room because I could smell it in my room. The door was probably broken before because I could see through the little opening so I had to put a chair to secure the door during the night. The fire alarm and smoke detectors were covered with plastics, I don’t know why.

Just checked in and there is no phone so have to walk via the stairs to the reception.. Wifi doesn't work in the room. There is no A/C and when I asked about a fan the male receptionist were using for himself he responded with a smirk on his face that this is our private fan which probably don't cost more than £15-20! I am staying at the first floor which means the heat rises and it feels like it's at least 30C in the room. Now if you open the windows you will hear traffic as cranbrook road is right next door. You can also hear the neighbours in the other rooms. If you're prepared to sweat all night and hear noise throughout the night then this your ideal place. A management that can't provide a simple fan for £20 don't deserve to be in this business. Based on all my experiences in staying at budget hotels up to top end 5star resorts I would rate this hotel a 0 star based on the above facts and attitudes of the staff at the reception when querying about the heat in the room. Avoid at all cost unless you're able to put up with the above mentioned points. And don't think that if the temp drops down to a pleasant 22C is going to change anything if you're staying at the first floor. The heat rises and all the rooms have carpets which retain the heat further. Perhaps if the temp drops to 10-15C it might be ok to stay if you're able to put up with all the noise outside as the insulation is horrible at the windows. The TV doesn't allow you to change the volume on the remote as it's fixed at a medium high volume meaning you can't watch TV later in the evening so have your laptop on your own wifi ready if you want to watch anything.

Me and my brother in law recently stayed for the weekend for the 1895 and challenge cup final, the hotel is basic, nothing fancy, staff are very welcoming and friendly, our room was a standard twin bed room, we had a tv, kettle and bathroom with shower, breakfast is 7-9 with a good choice of cereal and fried food, tea, coffee and juice's. If we ever decide to go to the finals again we will be happy to stay here again, but like I say it's a basic hotel nothing fancy, but it did the job for us.

Dirty Dirty Dirty avoid at all costs. You’ve been warned !!!!!!!!! Room 50 smells so bad of human sweat. I complained at reception and he basically said tuff luck. I paid £50 for the room and he said you get what you pay for. Please stay away or prepare to sleep with your clothes on

Very disappointed with hotel management after 3 days of a 5 day stay, my fiance engagement ring is stolen from our room. Reception has not reported to manager to come and see us.I am waiting for a face-to-face conversation.I have reported to the police via online theft. Now I have to wait. I would not recommend banks hotel if you do then beware.
